Better being on good terms with them than bad.

But some girls lose interest in guys if they find out their parents approve.
Not that I'm saying that applies in this case, of course.

Those girls are normally the type to look for trouble.

Or maybe the kinds who assume you must be really boring if her parents like you.

But wouldn't the girl have been dating the guy for an amount of time before meeting the parents, therefore knows that he's not boring as they got to the parent-meeting stage?

Normally its the parental acceptance that makes her rethink her primary evaluations.

If she's rethinking that just makes her a fool.

What's foolish about wanting to make sure that you're giving your heart to someone who's good for you?

Does parental approval make him bad?

No, but you know teens and their parents. They're normally the people getting on your case, the people you are constantly disagreeing with. It stands to reason that you would naturally re-evaluate your boyfriend/girlfriend if your parents like him becase you generally have opposing views, and it stands to reason that whatever your parents like about your boyfriend is something that you won't.
Moreover, who wants to date someone your parents can identify with?

Again, those are the teens who are looking for trouble. I wouldn't let my mum change my mind about a guy, whatever she thought of him.

Oh, I can hardly believe that. You mean if your mother told you that she likes your boyfriend because he's exactly like your father, you wouldn't start thinking, "Ew! Why would she say that?"

It's not like that, really, Chris. I mean, I don't think I'm boring ... lol. But she really does get along very well with her parents, actually. I think her parents' approval mean a lot to her.

Oh, I know it's not like that, but its good for me to have a completely pointless discussion every once again. Makes my soul ... vivid.
