1.) I am using the latest version of the GIMP, and I think this tutorial would be different in an old version (they rearranged a couple of buttons, but I don't recall where they used to be), so before starting, I suggest you download and install GIMP 2.4.6: gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html2.) If you don't know how to use the paths tool, check this out: www.gimp.org/tutorials/Bezier_Selections/ After getting used to it, create a path that curves the way you want your text to curve. Make sure it's pretty smooth with the transitions from one anchor to another, and I wouldn't make the curves overly drastic (unless you don't mind changing the letter and word spacing of your text, of course). 3.) Open the paths dialog and click on your path. Type and style your text accordingly with the text tool. Click the "Text along Path" button in the text tool dialog. Delete your text layer. 4.) You now have a path created from your text, but you're not done yet. Right click the path in the paths dialog, and click "Path to Selection." Fill with desired color on a new transparent layer. Image > Select > None. 5.) At some point, you might have to go back and adjust your text size or letter spacing values or manually type in spaces between words. Just whatever makes it look best in the end. Need any more tips or have any questions, just ask. You're welcome, Ashie. ;D
