Ash almost growled her reply, "I don't wish I was dead." Jack gave her a sidelong glance, and she sighed, "According to Jack, Bill went under Davey Jones instead of actually dying. So that means he's still alive, if not warped slightly."
"More 'n slightly, Ash, his skins kinder greenish and hes gotter fe' barnicles on 'im." Jack told them, shaking his head.
"I don't care about looks. He used to be one of the most handsome men I have ever seen before, he had his good looking time. I just want him back. Anyways, if we can find Will, he can give Bill a jar of dirt. That will allow him back on land. But Jack also said Will went under Davey himself as a substitute for Jack awhile ago, so he;s not allowed on land for the next 10 years or so. Its been a few years, and I wouldn;t mind a few more, but 10 is such a large number..." Ash sighed, watching Lucky stir the tea again.

"honey- yer'll b abou' as old as jack is naa," Lucky stated, though Ash didn't act it, Lucky was well aware that her partner was about 5 years younger than herself, but it never bothered it. she glanced at the tea. "we don' 'ave any milk, bu' the tea's pretty damn strong. ge' the cups jack."
"bu' i-"
"GET THEM!" snapped Lucky, glowering at him.
mutterin 2 himself, jack picked himself up and looked around mutterin to himself.
"Ash?" said lucky, "yer still in love with bootstrap?"

As the sun rose over the tops of the trees on the island, Emily had to squint to keep the sun out of her eyes. Beads of sweat ran down her brow, and her sides ached from walking all night. Her chest rose and fell heavily with each breath, and her eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep. She had been searching for Jack and the girls all night, and it had taken a toll on her body. Her beautiful dress now had several tears, nicks and smudges on it from getting caught in the underbrush and from her tripping and falling in the mud a few odd times. Emily's long brown wavy hair had now lost it's beautiful shimmer and hung in loose sweaty clumps over her face. Normally, Emily would have never presented herself in front of new companions in this state but she didn't care this time because one, her finding them and telling them about Will's plans to return to Port Royal were more important than her vanity right now and two, because they were pirates and they had most likley seen worse conditions of man. She looked up at the sky, and wiped the sweat from her face. It was hot on the island. Not only was it hot, but it was humid. The kind of tropical humidity that gnaws at your patience and tears at your very sanity. Emily hated it. Without the cool ocean breeze, it was absolute hell in the caribbean. She sat down on a log and held her head. "What if they left without me? What if I'm too late and they've gone out to sea already? What is William had already arrived and found that she was not at the brewery?" a whirlwind of "what ifs" buzzed in her head, and it soon became too much for her to handle. Tears welled up in her eyes as she tightly gripped a vine growing on a nearby tree. "Maybe they weren't really my friends after all. Maybe they were just f*cking with me and my naive hopeful urges to go to sea. What the hell was I thinking?" Emily picked up a rock and threw it at a tree nearby. She slowly gazed up at where the rock had landed and noticed a column of smoke rising from the woods nearby. A campfire! Emily stared up at it with disbeilef. "It HAD to be them! They didn't leave her after all!" She forgot about her frustration and held back her tears. Emily stood up and ran to the campsite, with a new hope inside her. She tore through the jungle, pushing plants and various bugs out of her path. As she neared the campsite, she could smell the unmistakible scent of fresh tea brewing over an open fire. With one final mad dash, she broke through a row of thick ferns and into a clearing. She looked up and shook the hair out of her face to see Lucky, Jack and Ash sitting around the fire. They all looked up at her startled, both by her appearance and by her sudden arrival. Lucky stood up and examined her from head to foot. After she recognized who she was, she laughed and her expression softened.
"Oy! It be 'at lass from th' pub! Ha! What th' 'ell 'appened to ya?!" she laughed.
Emily tried to catch her breath, but it was no use. The heat was too much, she was tired from running through the woods all night, and she was so out of breath from the mad dash for the camp, that her body couldn't handle it. She fainted, and fell sideways into the ferns behind her.
When she regained consciousness, she felt cool water flowing down onto her face. She opened her eyes and saw Lucky kneeling next to her, holding a cool wet rag to her forehead. She slowly sat up, and tried to speak, but her mouth was too dry.
"'ere," said Lucky, holding out a mug filled with water, "ya look like you could use a little o' this, mate." Emily took the mug and chugged the water down. She had never been so thankful for it in her life. Once properly hydrated, she turned to Lucky and told her. "Tell Ash and Jack to get over here. There's something you all need to know..."

Ash crawled back out of her tent/tree once again. She had been trying to get a bit more sleep, but it just wasn't coming. Now, she had an excuse to come back out.
"Alright. I'm here." She replied, sitting next to the two.
Jack came out of some random part of the woods, and sat down next to Lucky. With them all here, they looked at Emily too see what news she had brought them.

Once everyone was seated around her, Emily inhaled slowly, then told them, "I know... that you guys have been wondering about Will and Bootstrap. How they're doin' an all..." She dug around in her pocket for the letter. She found it, unfolded it, then handed it to Ash.
"I recived this letter from him last night. That's why I was out all night looking for ya. Apparently, Will's gonna pay us a little visit. He says that he has something important to tell all of us."
All three of the pirates jumped up at the same time. "No way! Will's coming?!" they cried. Ash stepped forward. "But he can't set foot on land fer another 10 years. How's that possible?"
Emily shrugged. "I don't know, but that what the letter said. Last location he gave me was Tortuga. He said that he was on his way here from there."
Lucky's eyes widened. "At's no' very far from 'ere.." she said. "He could be 'ere any minute!"
"That's what I'm saying." Emily said, turning to Lucky. "We need to get to the brewery as soon as we can manage and wait for him there."
Lucky perked up, "But what about the soldiers? It's only been 11 hours. They could still be looking for us."
Emily sighed, and rubbed her neck. "It's a risk we're gonna have to take, mates."
Jack, Lucky and Ash looked at each other, then nodded. "And how do ya propose we pull off such a smuggle?" Jack asked suddenly.
Emily smiled, remembering one of Will's favorite sayings, one that Jack would recognize. "Well, " she began, "Let's just say it's a matter of leverage, eh?"

As Jack grinned and chuckled a little at Emily's comment, Lucky frowned. she was well used to taking unnessecary risks… but wat if it had been an imposter riting to emily. then again, how wud the imposter know all of what was written. she glanced over the letter again, suddenly very glad that her father had insisted she and rose learned to at least read. rose had learnt readin, riting and arithmatic. Lucky just managed reading and basic arithmatic, for some reason cud not master riting, even if she was a fantastic navigator.
she scanned the letter again, jack was saying something but she wasn't listening. it was deffinetly will's hand writing. she had met him a total of once, and had seen his riting when he wrote out a record of her buy. since then legends of the blacksmith had been whispered around the pirate holds.
she jumped up, grinning. she could feel the tug of the sea and the call of adventure almost physically on her body and mind. there was no way she was passing it up.
"well, mateys!" she said, already packing up, she could feel their eyes staring at her in confusion, "wha' we wai'in fer?! le'ss go!"
"but the patrols-" started Jack, sounding a little feeble.
"can go ter 'ell wi' ma sword between their ribs," she told him simply, "this is anvher adventure, Jack… like we 'ad afore. and we'll 'ave bill wiv uz! and two newbies too! will's an old hand, bu' 'e's new ter bein' wiv uz, and Emily's finally surcumbin' ter the call of the tha sea!" Lucky could barely contain her excitement. "think abou' i'… sailing, pirating, adventure, mystery, reuminion- our usual she-bang!" she looked at Ash, "u feel it too don' ya?" she said to her partner, "and you," she turned to emily, "the pull of the sea's too strong fer yer now! this is the perfect opportunity ter ge' away!" she looked round, her sea green eyes bright, playful and mischievious. she had gotten her old, cheeky glint back. it was all Jack's fault. and Emily for bringing such hope to them all. "cummon, ma'es! le's ge' goin'!"

It was so contagious. Ash's grey eyes were soon glinting, she could feel the pull too, just as strong as Lucky had it. Jack got the usual split look on his face, half that he didn't want to go and possibly get killed, but wanted to go because he knew and loved the adventure.
"Well, Jack, help us pack'er up!" Ash cheered, jumping backwards, landing on her feet right next to her tent.
Only a few seconds behind Lucky and jack, Ash's tent and what few cooking supplies they had were tucked into Ash's tree, and the bark was secure over it.
"Well, Em, lead the way back to your brewery." Ash told the girl, draping her cloak over herself, but puffing out the bottom to make it look like she was wearing a dress of the style nowadays. Her own hat was tucked into her tree, and she pulled her hair back into a simple but fancy knot, so she looked the part she was playing.

Emily led them through the jungle and to the back of the brewery. Oddly, there was no one on the streets, not a single citizen, nevermind a guard. It troubled Emily somewhat, but she decided to forget about it and move on.
Once inside, they found a place to sit down in front of the hearth and to wait for William. Emily stretched out in front of the hearth, pulled out a knife and a block of wood from her pocket and began to carve a figure of a ship into the wood. Lucky, taking notice of this, wandered over and plopped down next to Emily.
"Watcha carvin' 'ere, lass?" she inquired.
"Oh, just a ship. I carve things when I wait. Odd habit of mine, really." Lucky nodded. "I didn't know you worked with wood." she said.
"I don't really." said Emily. "My mom just taught me when I was little. Now SHE was a master carver. She used to carve out the woodwork and designs on her own pirate ship. Her work was beautiful, but..." Emily's smile faded.
"But wha'?"
"...It's all at the bottom of the ocean now. Everything she ever carved. All her work... gone." She put down the knife and stared foreward, deep in thought. Sshe never got a chance to show it off to the world. If she wasn't so close to the sea, she could've been a fine wood sculptor."
Lucky put a comforting arm around her. "Eh, at's a shame. If ya don't mind me askin', wha happened to yer mum anyway?"
Emily resumed carving the ship design and told her, "When I was 17, she was captured by pirates while out on my dad's fishing boat. I haven't seen her since."
Lucky nodded, and said "Well, ya know... tha' doesn't necissarily mean at she's gone. You said 'at she was a pirate herself. She could still be owt 'ere, ya know. Sailin' around. Maybe she's lookin' fer ya too, mate."
Emily thought for a minute, then smiled and said, "Who knows?"
Emily continued to carve the galleon into the peice of wood, and Lucky continued to watch her. Lucky would teach her the names of the ship parts as Emily carved them, and they would tell each other stories about their lives, some funny, some sad. They were having an all-around good time, and were becoming very good friends.
Jack had wandered into the storage room, and found himself a lifetime supply of fresh Caribbean rum. He made an odd noise when he made his discovery. He began to reach for a bottle when Ash spied him.
"EH! You knock it off, ya hear?! That's Emily's rum. She has to sell that stuff to live, ya drunken git, now lay off!"she yelled at him.
Emily looked over and knew instantly what was going on. She laughed. "It's ok, Jack. Help yourself. I'll be joining ya, and I won't be needing it anymore, remember? I want to leave this life behind me, and whet beter way to start than to treat my friends with a little free rum, eh?"
Jack beamed, snagged a bottle and bowed. "Yer a darlin', mate." he said.
Ash rolled her eyes and smiled. "What a desperate moron." she thought to herself. "that Jack's gonna get himself killed drunk one o these days... Course... that's probably what he wants. To die drunk." Ash laughed, and said quietly to herself, "...but not anytime soon. Still plenty of life left in ol' Jack."
They sat around like that for nobody knew how long. An hour? Two hours? Five hours? It didn't matter. They were enjoying each other's company and had almost forgotten why they were there in the first place, when...
...there was a knock at the door.
Everyone in the room froze and turned slowly to the door. The three pirates looked at Emily, and she drew a breath and walked over to the door. "This is it" she thought. She grasped the handle in her hand and slowly pulled the door open...
Then everyone heard an all too framiliar voice.
"Hello Emily. It's been some time."

Lucky froze, as she watched Emily throw her arms round a younger version of her beloved friend Bootstrap. though admittedly bootstrap was stockier and shorter, the fundementals of his father were very visable in Will's face and attitude too. confident, seafaring, adventurous, and oddly happy with his life. even if all sorts of things had happend to them, both father and son would try to see the good side of life.
she edged forewards, as jack seemed to back off slightly.
"Will?" said Lucky slowly, Will looked up. he suddenly released his friend, and stood straight, to attention.
"hello… uh… Lucky," he said, almost unsure wat to call the older woman. he obviously knew she demanded respect for the older woman, but pirates didn't like lady, or miss or anything of the sort, "how've you been?"
"i've bin grea'," she smiled, coming foreward, examining him closely, "pirating, pilaging, ge'in ma own bak on sum people i owe. ya know, usual deal." she winked, then came forewards and put her arms round Will, almost as how an aunt would great a favourite nefew. shyly he returned the hug. she pulled back, reached up and kissed Will's forehead as though he was 8 years old. "good ter see yer, kid," she muttered quietly, then pulled away entirely, "there are a few people i recon u'd like ter meet. o jaaaaackie poooo…" she teased.

"Ooh, Jackie-poo?" Ash snickered, Will was so much like his father, she could almost believe it was Bill who was there rather than Will, but it was an illusion that never stayed, "I like that one."
"How ya've been, Munchkin?" Ash poked his chest, using the name she called him as a young child, "Though, you're not much of a munchkin anymore. Been awhile. According to jack overe there, you've recently seen Bill? But I suppose that can wait till later. Get in here and tell us whatcha need to tell us."
Ash pulled his arm, pulling him inside as Emily shut the door. Spinning him around, Ash pushed him into a seat, watching his reaction. he was slightly suprised, but recovered very nicely. Ruffling his hair like he was her won child, she let Lucky gather Jack and everybody crowded around Will.

Lucky grinned to herself. she knew for a fact it wud b a loooong time before jack lost that name. jack grabbed her arm back.
"what thee 'ell wuz tha' fer?!" complained jack.
"awwwww don' yer like i' jackie pooooo," Lucky poked her tongue out at him, she danced out of the way and sat in front of Will like a little child waiting for him to spill his story.

(You guys really don't like to write long portions of the story, do ya? Oh well. I take it you like action scenes better. Well don't wory. they'll be plenty of those soon enough.)
William cleared his throat and looked over at Emily. He sighed and told them, "There's a problem... with my duty as the escort of the sea."
Ash glanced at Jack and then asked Will, "What do you mean by 'Problem'?"
Will's eyes met hers. "I cannot enter the afterworld. Even the locker where we found Jack, there's no way for me to get in." he explained. "The ship will not enter the mist between worlds, it just won't. I've tried. Again and again, I've tried but each time I fail, and wind up in the same place I started." Will twiddled his thumbs uneasily under the table. "...and we have a serious backup of souls that can't enter their final resting place because of it. It maddening, you guys. I have the desire and duty to help them... but I can't. I just can't. You have no clue of the frustration thats tearing at my conscious."
The four others stared at Will, each one feeling both sympathy for their friend and having a whirlwind of questions for him. But they remained silent so Will could continue.
"I was so desperate to find out why I couldn't fufill my duty to these souls that I..." Will paused and shuffled nervously in his seat.
Ash coaxed him into talking again. "What did you do?"
"I... looked up Barbossa... and asked him for help."
Jack shot him a glare. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" he roared.
Will winced, then stood up. "I didn't have any other option, Jack. He had been to the other side himself and Tia Dalma had informed him much about the other side. I wasn't betraying you, Jack, I was just getting help!"
Jack's face didn't soften. "Aren't you forgetting something, mate? Due to the fault of YOUR dotty belle, ol' what's her face, I ended up dead and serving in the bloody locker for a period of time as well. 'Ave ye forgotten THAT already, mate? And yet, you choose to turn to the pitiful mutineer for help. Sucking up to the stuck-ups, are we?"
Will, his eyes now burning, yelled right back at him, " JACK, YOU WERE THE FIRST PERSON I WAS GOING TO TURN TO, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT I COULDN'T FIND YOU ANYWHERE BECAUSE YOU PULLED ONE OF YOUR INFAMOUS DISSAPPEARING ACTS RIGHT WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST!" Will's face was now glowing with anger. "You tell ME somthing, Captain Jack Sparrow," he eyed him feircely "why is it that whenever YOU need help, I'm always there to your rescue, yet whenever I need answers for things that endanger MY life, you're always out drinkin' or rustling up prostitutes?"
Jack looked away, embarassed and a little hurt, but he didn't stop frowning.
Will sat down, now smiling a little, because he knew Jack knew what he was talking about. With a bit of a triumphant tone, will finished with, "Yes, the world revolves around dashing Captain Jack Sparrow, dosen't it?"
Jack suddenly looked up, "Need I remind you, boy, who saved your bonny lass the first time we met, eh?" He stood up, and begain to take steps toward William. "And who, lad, reunited you with your beloved father and gave you that job in the first place?"
Will, scowling and Jack, was now close enough to sock him in the kisser, had he the nerve. And such an event may have, in fact, taken place had not Emily suddenly jumped up from her seat and pushed the men away from each other.
"Would the pair of ya eedjiots*, sit down and shut yer traps!" She screamed. "Obviously, you have both betrayed each other several times, and you have both done things that have caused strains and mistrust between yas..." Emily told them, carefulling watching Jack to make sure he didn't take to strangling Will in a drunken fit of rage. "...but is that worth KILLING each other over? You two are PIRATES for christ's sake! Yes, you cause chaos and mistrust to your peers because that's what you do!" she paused and slowed down a bit. "But I think, given the standards of piracy mistrust, you two have been close shipmates and fellow pirates. You both share a passion that connects all pirates, no matter WHO or WHERE they are. You love the sea. William bound himslef to this duty because of that passion, and Jack is a pirate lord for the same reason. You couldn't have gotten as far as you both have without the other. I think the same goes for Barbossa, as vile and traitous as he is."
She paused and put a hand on Jack. "he IS the one that got you out of the locker, Jack. As much as you hate him, remember that."
Jack nodded.
"Now William, please continue." She said.

Lucky was laughing so hard by then, she thought her sides would burst. the arguement between the two pirates was rediculous. pirates always back-stabbed each other at one point or another. as long as they have their pay backs, no pirate held it against each other. there were too few of them to hate each other for too long. but Lucky never did get the story as to why Jack was a pirate lord. tho it may have had something to do with his father being the code keeper.
"yer two r as bad as each ovva ya know," she chuckled, "Barbossa ain' tha' bad an' yer both no pira'es always do tha' ter each other. " her laughter resided and she looked at Will with a large grin on her face. "carry on boy."

Ash rolled her eyes and muttered, "'Cause thats what our Jack does when he's not in trouble and needing help even putting one foot in front of the other cause trouble seems to follow him."
Jack looked away, embarassed and a little hurt, but he didn't stop frowning, and leveled a glare at the grinning Ash.
Jack suddenly looked up, "Need I remind you, boy, who saved your bonny lass the first time we met, eh?" He stood up, and begain to take steps toward William. "And who, lad, reunited you with your beloved father and gave you that job in the first place?"
Ash's ears seemed to perk up, "You've seen Bootstrap recently?" then, rapping herself in the forehead with a stick she somehow got her hands on and was playing with, she hurridly added, "Nevermind, the sea-souls come first, my own selfish-ness come later."
"Now William, please continue." She said.
"Yes, please continue." Ash was giggling, not as hard as Lucky was, but she was giggling.
