Another passion of mine, which I hadn't realized was a big part of my life until a couple of years ago (even though it always had been), is self-exploration. I always try to figure out my motives and tendencies and beliefs and the like to try to put together a puzzle to see what kind of person I truly am, and if I find good reason to, I attempt to change my worse qualities. I also take much time observing others in my day-to-day life and imagining the thought processes and histories behind their actions and lifestyles.

My passion is my girlfriend. She inspires me to no end and always supports my writing, and tells me when she thinks I'm wrong. Most people won't.

People who write like this:
INELUCTABLE MODALITY OF THE VISIBLE: AT LEAST THAT IF NO MORE, thought through my eyes. Signatures of all things I am here to read, seaspawn and seawrack , the nearing tide, that rusty boot. Snotgreen, bluesilver, rust: coloured signs. Limits of the diaphane. But he adds: in bodies. Then he was aware of them bodies before of them coloured. How? By knocking his sconce against them, sure. Go easy. Bald he was and a millionaire, maestro di color che sanno. Limit of the diaphane in. Why in? Diaphane, adiaphane. If you can put your five fingers through it, it is a gate, if not a door. Shut your eyes and see.

The only thing about that I understood was that ... it was in English. I think.

But...but...if you can put your fingers through it...it's not a door!

It's from the "Proteus" section of Ulysses, where Stephen Dedalus is walking on Sandymount strand thinking about language and philosophy. It's gorgeously brilliant once you understand the Protean nature of the chapter.
