Startide Rising by David Brin is my new favorite book. Other notables: THe Lord of the Rings, the Redwall series, Otherland by Tad Williams, the Jedi Academy series (Star Wars) by Kevin J. Anderson, Dune by Frank Herbert, Black by that Christian SF writer dude...Narnia...Jan Duusema's comic books...Harry Potter, The Giver, oh yeah, the Harry Dresden series...there's so many!! The Bible counts as nonfiction, so that should be stuck in another list...
I liked the Princess Bride movie better. It was less satirical, though both were fun.

Gee, I don't know..
Cirque du Freak, Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson, Oliver Twist, (okay, fine) Harry Potter (especially the 5th one), The Hobbit, Pride and Prejudice (most likely because I recently watched that one movie, read the book, and watched the movie again twice- having nothing better to do), -runs up to room for glance at bookself-.. Warriors, To Kill A Mockingbird, Twilight, The Sea of Trolls, Eragon (etc) I was pretty obsessed with right after reading it, and probably Lord of the Rings, it would be nice to have time to re-read that.. -shuts up already-.

I also like LoTR, HP, Cronicles of Narnia, and I am currently liking most of Mercedes Lackey's books.

Anything RA Salvatore. Creative genius, that guy is. Great guy in person too. I know. I met him Really big on Dean Koontz... Terry Goodkind was good for the first five or so books of his series. Then the started repeating themselves. I feel about the same way about Harry Potter as I do Eragon and Eldest. They are decent enough, but not wonderful, and not nearly as good as their hype would make you think. Tolkien....now THAT is writer.

One of my new favorite books is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is about a girl in WWII Germany, and the writing is an extremely interesting experimental style. It held me, and usually realistic fiction never would. I recommend this book to almost anyone...it leaves you with emotion.

I enjoyed A Confederacy of Dunces. It was a very funny book who committed suicide some years ago.

Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk. If you've seen the movie and like it, you will worship this book. Lol, it's absolutely amazing.

I liked the Bartimaeus books too. I've only read the first and second (I think) but I enjoyed them, especially the foot notes.

Liquor, Prime, The Value of X, and Soul Kitchen- all by Poppy Z. Brite and about the same two characters. For someone who wants to be chef (like me!), these books are really good.
