Some people criticize the Rowling for not being a good author, but I think her writing is actually very clever. And my usual response to those people is, "Could you have done such a good job?" I mean, come on; just imagine how hard it must have been to create an entire multi-dimensional world with many realistic characters and plan out each detail of the series so carefully. Other people criticize it for being blasphemy. I don't really want to get into that because I hate big debates, but I would like to point out that the series focuses on many positive themes and does not promote evil through magic. I think Rowling does a beautiful job with the characters, dialogue, suspense, message and theme, settings and description, and all those other little details that many authors cannot seem to successfully create and pull together.

Rowling's world is incredably succint. I am surprised--how much so. I did not like the sixth book--it was a soap opera, but all the others were excellent. Concerning religion, Harry Potter is fiction, not reality, and there are a lot worse out there anyway, I guess the issue is jjust that HP is so popular for children. I wrote an editorial on this once, as I was pretty riled.
(tsunade, I'm not "phanty related" either... my current sigset is pretty completely Star Wars though.)

Did you measure it up by your computer screen? ;D It's actually longer than all the books except OOTP, according to MuggleNet. *nods* So shall we start speculating about the plot by the cover design's hints? The British children's one's sure interesting. ;D

Yeah, I knew they would insist on going with him to the end (hopefully not THE the end, of course). It makes you wonder if anyone else from Hogwarts even makes an appearance, though. . .

Just imagine a last book without Luna and Ginny and Neville and the like! He should go back to school, but I read the description on the back of the cover, and it doesn't seem like he's going to. . . I don't even know if there IS a school anymore.
