Can't say anything on whether it will be good or not, but it should be worth checking out. Maybe it'll be BETTER than the books. (which are all right, but you know.)

See youngwriters.proboards14.com/index.cgi?board=books&action=display&thread=1117507904, the old YWG's Eragon thread, for my opinion on the books. (I'm Harper Lee Lucas-Wan there.) I'll probably go see the movie hoping for real pretty dragon animation. As long as they do her realistically, like a dinosaur more than a cartoon, it'll be fun, but that's my major criteria cause I did not like the books. It also depends on the director...any knowledge on who's doing it? Will Paolini be involved like Rowling was for her movies?

Cy, it is being directed by Stefen Fangmeier, whoever that may be. Not sure if Paolini is involved, but it is more than likely that he is.

I've seen the commercials (jump out of my seat and fly for the nearest tv whenever i hear one starting) and I've caught glimpses of Zar'roc. The gem in it's pommel is BLUE. Not red. SOMETHING IS MESSED UP HERE!!!!! Where is that director and does it matter if he looses a few teeth?
Yes, I am a die hard Eragon fan.

And just judging from the game, I'd say that the director changed too much of the book for the movie and that its prolly gonna be a big rip off. But I still wanna go see it

I heard that the movie was a disappointment compared to the book. And I didn't like the book.

I'd say Murtagh was the one really good thing about the movie. There were some really good fights, but the plot was lacking. Now, obviously this has to happen for a movie, but how can you possibly cut out Katrina? Or cast Aria so badly? I rate it worth getting from your local library when it comes out, unless you want to see the dragon fights on the big screen (Eragon and the shade fighting was quite cool) in which case you will enjoy it, but not love it if you are a true Eragon fan.
