I don't know what John's talking about. Dark Macabre is the most awesome title I've ever heard. Were it a woman I'd marry it and have its children. I'm crossing my fingers in the hope that it will be a success for you.
So how was your first book received critics-wise?

I maintain my position that the title is unfit.

Critic-wise, my book was pretty well received, though I did get some threatening comments from critic in New York. Had to a restraining order. Quite absurb when you think about it.

Extreme. What'd he say? And what were the other critics saying?

Well, the atrocious critic from New York called me a few appalling names, said my book was literal trash, and said that I should be shot. Had to get a restraining order out against her. Dirty business.
As for the other critics, they said the plot was well imagined and that the character were genuine. So far, I have had mainly good reviews with some bad ones.
I my mind it doesn't matter. I don't pay attention to critics, but that's just me.

That critic sounds unprofessional and mildly psychotic. Tell us more about her, and why she went up the wall about your book with the unfit title.

Mr. Sapphire, the reviewer was quite unprofessional and immature. The comments she made were sexist and quite out of line. Doing research on her, I found that she had some sort of attack that I can not remember at the moment as was committed to an asylum of sorts, which curdled my blood when I heard it. That is the main reason my parents got a restraining order, for fear of her harming my family or me.
And now that I look at, The Orphaned Key, it sounds somewhat dull and boring, but that is the only title that I could think of at the time of publication. My other choice was, Orphaned: or The Outcomings of a Villian and His Adopted Son, which didn't work for me.

I targeted my book, which I call a novella, towards young adult. It is somewhat a cross between Lemony Snicket and Charles Dickens. People have told me that they would put it under Mystery or Horror, which is absurd because there really isn't a mystery in it and not that much blood or gore. I would label it as Young Adult or Dark Fiction.
As of right now I am working on a new novel that I hope my agent thinks would work as a published work. So far I have an outline, character outlines, and other such materials that I need to start a novel.

Quite right.
It seems work at my craft with sincere passion, which is quite good is one wants to be a writer. I loath it when people write just to make money or to be recognized. It is quite selfish and somewhat immmature, which is irrelevant to this topic. Sorry about going on a rant like that. I just get heated when I think about it.

Well, you're about to be heated with me, because I am definitely doing it for the recognition. I want people, particularly young readers, to be inspired in my work or find enjoyment in it. Passion is fine and all in my book, but just writing to the best of my ability isn't enough for me to be passionate about. I'm passionate about my work because I want other people to feel the same I do when I read it.
