Your first idea is a bit like Baz Luhrman's version of Romeo + Juliet. Ah - best film ever - I LOVE IT!
Well, maybe old english, but we haven't got to the middle ages, canterburry adventures or whatever on earth they are called. THAT my friends is A-Level stuff, or at least when you go in depth with it.
I prefer Shakespeare.
Does everyone remember LoTR/HP?? That went on for.... hundreds of pages, it was immense. Try and start another one like that? But it might be hard because a lot of members are dropping out, sadly.

We should totally do something like that Duck Tales thing Angie and Ash did.
Perhaps a sequel!

Coli and I had an idea of doing one based around characters from '300', but I think that's out before it's even in, lol. We did a sequel - never finished it. It was called 'Duck Tales II: Wuthering Ducks', and the Ash and Angie characters were more involved. You're welcomed to be inspired by our sheer brilliance, if you must. ;D

Nah, I was just kidding around. I don't think we should mess up your cool story by making a subpar sequel. But I do think the spontaneity and the ridiculousness of it is definitely something we should aim to capture.
Come on, anyone, give up those ideas. I'm up for anything and everything!

Nice stuff, Pestilence!
Ah...about the medieval dialogue...You'd have to be sure that everyone is comfortable using it first. I for one know nothing about it and therefore would be less inclined to join lest I look like a moron. That's just me, though.
The other three are good ideas...but the superhero one seems like the plot has already been determined, and that's not quite as much fun as discovering who will betray who throughout the duration of the story. It's very doable, though.
The third one doesn't really seem practical, like Ethan said. But we could probably make it work if people are interested in this.
I agree with what Ethan said about the fourth. It's more of an exercise.
Bet we could make almost any of them work. What really needs to happen is after the choices for the new jointy have been narrowed down to a few, a poll should be created and members can vote for their favorite one.
Hey, Pestilence...keep spouting them off, okay?
Aw, yeah, I remember that one! I miss Mac! The only problem with doing this one again is that it's kind of got...memories, for lack of a better word, attached. You know...we had a few members involved in it that have since left.

Oh no - I didn't explain it very well. I meant to start another jointy which was just as popular as that, if you know what I mean.

5. Everyone in the jointy is summoned magically to a weird place. None of them know each other or what is going on, and before they can figure anything out, boom!, along comes an irritable wizard who turns them all to exotic fruits and disappears when they try to get some answers out of him. Now they are all on the run from being eaten, and they must try to figure out who summoned them to this place and why, how to change themselves back into people, and how to get back home, and they must do all this before they start to spoil.
6. In this jointy, it's Real World: Jail Cell edition. What happens when many different people are put into a single jail cell together for life with cameras watching them? They stop being polite and start being real! Real uncomfortable that is! Don't drop the soap!
7. It's Harry Potter and the Willy Wonka chase! Michael Jackson has finally abandoned all pretenses at being a sane, rational, normal human being, and has convinced himself that he is Willy Wonka. He's used his money and influence to lure several children with candy for god knows what all across the world, and the police are unable to find him. It's up to Harry and his fellow Hogwarts alumni to track him down across the globe and give wacko Jacko what's coming to him!
8. Each person in this jointy is a penpal who writes letters to others about what is going on their lives. No emails allowed!
Psh. I'm tapped out for now.
EDIT: 9. Everyone in this jointy has joined a support group for people who have been turned into an undead or mythical creatue, such as vampires or mummies or fairies. They strike up friendships outside of the support group and call each other when they need counsel in dealing with their supernatural abilities as they get in the way of a normal life, such as when a zombie (notorious for being slow) wants to win a footrace, or a werewolf has to miss his prom because its on a night with a full moon.

I like number 8.

I like number 5. I'm definitely gonna use that if everyone goes in a different direction.

Are we the undead/mthical creatures in 9, or are we the friends to them?

Oh no - I didn't explain it very well. I meant to start another jointy which was just as popular as that, if you know what I mean. Oh...gotcha. Sorry, being dense. It's just a matter of getting one that catches on, that's all. We'll get it eventually Well...those are quite creative, Pestilence. Heh heh heh...What an interesting story THAT would make. Maybe just a wee bit too out there, if you know what I mean.

I like number 8. It leaves a lot of room for creativity ... and also, maybe each penpal's story could be intertwined in the others?

That was the idea, Anna. All these penpals are writing to each other.
Both, Techy, I must have not made this clear. The undead/mythical creatures meet each other in this support group, they become friends outside of the group, and they call each other whenever they need help.

The title speaks for itself, we need a new joint story that more people will join, and won't die like all the others....any suggestions? I think the reason jointies tend to die is that people don't want to have to keep up with a complicated plot, and the story often depends on one or two authors/characters. I think we need to figure out a way to get a plot that anyone can jump into or out of fairly easily and make sure no characters are more important than others. That way no one feels pressure to be committed to it daily, so they don't end up permanently abandoning it.

I, like, totally said that. That's certainly how I felt when I was into them.
