I skipped a voluntary performance that I really didn't want to go to, but since I'm a junior now, I'm supposed to be setting an example by going.

Oh, okay. *goes to read it* Yeah, but she's not even an amazing flute player either. Our section leader last year was really talented; she was an amazing flautist and the best piccolo player I've ever heard in a band our size. This year we're just doomed.

at RSAMD our regular picc player was off so the 1st flute, monica, stood in. thank fully we were in sectionals that day but unfortunately for the brass, the woodwind tutor was off so we were with the woodwind. Monica, in the hour long sectional, maybe got 2 real notes out of the thing. the rest were highly painful squeaks and creaky noises. the kinda old horror movies used to use for creaky doors. it was AWFUL!!!! and she is a good flotist. really good flotist. but we since have....confiscated.... her picc!!

Lol, it sounds about like our sectionals when Jamie plays her piccolo! Lol, I'm being too mean about this, but it's true.

My brother John is about to leave for good, and he LOST the $1600 check from my other brother. My mom had to write him a $300 check (one that we can't afford, mind you) just in case he doesn't find the other one. Not trying to sound mean or anything, but I know that if I had $1600 dollars, I'd keep my eyes on it constantly. How on Earth do you LOSE that kind of money?

Lol, he found it. Apparently my other brother had sent him two letters, and he packed one and set the other one out so he could keep it on him, and he packed the wrong one.

Today before band started, Sheryl handed me an envelope with my name on it, and inside was an invitation to a BRIDAL shower - MISHA's bridal shower! ;D

Today we realized that even while putting together three heads, we still forgot to teach the freshmen flutes something. Therefore, I am compiling a list of things I need to remember for next year so I have an entire twelve months to remember the things I've forgotten:
center of gravity stretches: touch toes, lean left and right, arms across chest, neck exercises, slide exercise, stand on one foot, calf lunge, calf partnet stretch show flute positions when up and down standing at set for a long time with horns up and down (and use flutes) (count loudly, clearly (staccato-like), and correctly during all exercises) glide step toes up kick it out sort of squeeze the quarter adjusted steps (16, 12, 8, 6, 4) don't let heels go down when back marching don't bend knees too much don't totally lock knees ever (you'll faint) guiding sideways and frontways equal steps (get size 8 step down and memorized) sliding (without wobbling) - front right, front left, back right, back left box - front, left, back, right; front, right, back, left; reverse all (start with back) swivelling (face press box, march forward eight, switch and march backward eight and don't move horn's position) touch and go both ways touch and go at an angle? gate swing march into straight lines and diagonals with equal distance march with eyes closed circle marching? march backwards and keep distance between you and person in front of you same whole time (count loudly, clearly (staccato-like), and correctly during all exercises) mark time (while playing) play while marching combine exercises into SUPER exercise!
read drill sets
tempo tone/tune balance together notes/key dynamics

Yesterday I spent two hours dusting John's room (there was literally over 1/4 an inch of dust on the surface of the four pieces of furniture in there). We still have yet to sweep up the disgusting floor.
