People have really been lacking in the reading and reviewing section that a writers' guild should be most active in. I include myself in this, seeing as I am a lazy little...well, you know what, and don't EVER like reviewing people's stories, because I don't want to give bad advice, and ruin it....
but we need a way to get people more involved. Pesto's Ready, Set, Spotlight Campaign is an honerable attempt, really...but there just isnt any incentive for anyone to reivew them. Like, people, and again, I include myself, don;'t want to review unless we get a review in return...I don't know how to do this...but I'd say a quid pro quo kind of thing...
Like, I suggest, or atr least plead that, if someone takes the time to review a story of yours, take the time out of your life, and review theirs, or, if they don't have any posted, someone elses. It's just a kind thing...like it doesnt even have to be an extensive review, like a little thing, just to show that person that you are reading, and give them a scope on what you think of it so far. If you think it's good, say why...if not, say why.
Brutal honesty would also be a key here...if you think it's bad, say so, but just try to say it politely.
That's just what I think...and I'd do this...anyone else?
Quid Pro Quo, people...something for something
What'cha think?

OMG, Ethan, I totally forgive you and wanna have filthy, degenerate sex with you!
I'm kidding. About the forgiving part, that is. Call me.
I agree with Ethan, even though I think he's only saying that because I've chosen him as a scapegoat for my frustration. Lord knows back when I was more active I made it a point to at least say something, even if it wasn't true. In fact, I always make sure to make the author know that I have at least looked at it and make some vague promise to post a review in the future, even if I know it isn't true, just as a form of encouragement, to let them know that their work isn't going unnoticed. I think with just a little give and take we could kickstart some life back into the writing portion of the site.
I'm so totally in.

Ethan you would never leave the site. Ha. Um I might, if I have the time (and I have like... none at the moment. Schoool) and will definitely consider it. Still don't know what on earth a quid pro quo thing is. Must be a canadian phrase. Heh.

Em, I really would...actually been thinking of leaving lately anyways And Quid Pro Quo is latin, Em...it mean something for something...basically it's a coller way of saying "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours"

Well that sucks! Don't leave =[[
Uhm... well who scratches each others backs in THIS DAY AND AGE ANYHOW?! (haha I love that saying [inside joke])
Erm... well no one's really been posting anything to critique so it's a bit tricky....
*sparks into song*
"This BEAT is my recital I THINK it's very vital To ROCK around that's RIGHT on time it's tri..trii....tri...tri tri HERE WE GO!
It's tricky tricky"
HAHA I LOVE THAT SONG!
EDIT: Wait....
It then goes
It's tricky to rock around (to rock around) that's right on time It's tricky.... tricky tricky tricky tricky, it's tricky to rock around (to rock around) that's right on time it's tricky... tricky tricky tricky tricky
I met this little girly, her hair was kinda curly, went to her house and...
Lmao I know it off by heart. It's a bit of a ledge at my school =P

That's just IF people are willing to help...this has not really been a young writers' guild, so much as a young spammers' guild...there's nothing wrong with that, the site is usually LOADS of fun (Not so much as Toronto, but that's classified hilarity...basically, if any of you end up in Toronto, just tell me, and I'll be there...I'm gonna look for excuses to go now, today was AWESOME)
