I wanted to do something to justify my status as the Fiction section admin, and I came up with an idea to highlight old entries in the Fiction section that I call Ready, Set, Spotlight! The idea is to sticky the old story in first position for a week, give it a review and endlessly encourage other people to do the same. I think it would be a great way to drum up some activity in my department (if you will), get people to see stories they may have not been aware of, and give old pieces that never got that much attention the credit they are due. If you're interested, then please don't hesitate to get into it. This week's lucky recipient is Kristin, and her love story "Why Did I Fall In Love With You". Here's the link, and thanks in advance for your cooperation: ywg2.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=fiction&action=display&thread=1152896569

Again, I remind you all to help my Ready, Set, Spotlight! campaign and review Kristin's story. It's stickied, so you can't miss it, and I will be ubiquitous with my reminders until I get some of you involved. Again, the link, pretty, pretty please take the time to take a look at it, and thank you for your help in advance: ywg2.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=fiction&action=display&thread=1152896569

It's a good idea - I hope it works. I decided to get off my lazy butt and review something for once today just to help kick-start it a tad. Come on people, get involved too! It won't kill you, I promise!

Thank you bundles, Angie. I can always count on you. That's at least one person I've gotten to; hopefully others will follow suit.

I'm having trouble choosing this week's honoree, and I thought maybe it would cool if I gave someone else an opportunity to suggest something. Go ahead and fish through the Fiction Stories section and pick a story you think is worthy of being highlighted this week!

Meh, you probably didn't have me in mind when you said ANYBODY but. . .
I've just read Watcher Lake by fellbelow and while some of the events seem to happen rather quickly, if not unrealistically and the ending is in no way really what you'd expect from the rest of the piece it is, in my humble (yeah, right) opinion a pretty good piece. So uhh, I'd recommend that. ;D

I'm so glad Erik recommended that story; it was easier to review the story knowing he had told me to. I guess I'm the kind of person who needs a prod to get things going. Go figure!
I've decided to make this suggestion thing a regular deal. It allows for more involvement by others, it allows other people to choose the stories they believe deserve the honor, and it gives me a much needed kick in the rear. Also, it makes me a little more certain of at least one person, the person recommending the story, of doing their little part. Although, that theory has already been disproven thanks to Erik there.
*mutters*
Anyway, don't be shy with your recommendations. Heck, nominate your own stories if you are so inclined; at this point, my only concern is to get people involved, and if that means that I have to let people exercise their egos then so be it! Pretty, prettier, prettiest of pleases help me out!
