1.) Make each frame of the animation an individual layer in an image. (Edit > Copy. Edit > Paste. Layer > New Layer.) Open the layers dialog (Main Window > File > Dialogs > Layers) and reorder them so that the first frame is at the bottom, and the last frame is at the top. 2.) Right click each layer, and click "Edit Layer Attributes". Add "(500ms)" (no quotation marks) to the end of each layer. Change 500 to whatever you want it to be; the higher the number, the longer the frame will show. 3.) Filters > Animation > Playback to watch the animation. Change anything you need to and watch it again. 4.) Image > Mode > Indexed. Hit OK, and see if the coloring got too messed up. If it did, hit Edit > Undo, Image > Mode > Indexed, and change the settings at the bottom with the dropdown menu. Try and try again until you get the best coloring possible. If it never looks very good, you may have to do Image > Mode > Grayscale and have a black and white image instead. 5.) Save as a GIF image.
