I may or may not finish this one, It still has alot of bugs to work out. But heres the prelude.
Prelude
Sweat. It always seems to pour from me when ever I get the least bit nervous. Funny, I've been waiting for this moment for years and now that its here, im wondering if we shouldn't wait. Ever since I started on this project, I knew it would forever change me. But now, as I look back, im not sure if it was the kind of change I was hoping for. I see myself now a hardend man whose given up everything to see this project through. I used to have a home, and a wife, yes a beautiful wife. God, I miss touching her beautiful...
"Sir, we're ready." Sampson, the leader of my project. Loyal, but you wouldnt think he the creator of such a machine by looking at him. His face doesnt suit his role.
"Thank you Sampson, thank you." I try to give my comforts and lay my hand on his shoulder, but in the end I think im only reasuring myself. I look up and see my labor complete, and I walk down the stairs to the glass doors that lead me to it. Bright bold letters read on the doors, "Test Area, Use Caution." This however, will be our first test.
Almost automatically my hand reaches for the panel where it reads my fingerprints. Cant be to careful I guess. Then monotonously it greets me, "Hello Eric Black, Be Safe." Damn that computer voice gets annoying after two years. But then the doors open, and I can feel the adrenaline surging through me. The feeling of an uncertain power that only lay in the palm of my hand, and a devious grin creeps upon my face. This is what I have become, this is who I am now, and now it is time.
I find before me my team who has stayed with me for so long, and I nod to them, "begin."
I dont even remember Sampson starting the machine. Just the mystic hum of it comming to life, and then the light.
It started small, the light. But then it slowly started to fill the room. Bright white, brighter than anything I have ever seen before. My eyes start to get weak and I have to shield them, but I know im not alone. Its the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can hear someone shouting data, but for some reason I cannot hear. Maybe its the moment, finally here, but even when I try to listen, it doesnt come through.
Wait, somethings happening, the light is fading. Its fading into a darker light, one filled with a sort of lightning. I lift my arm to see, and it seems as if blood dripped from the flashes of red throughout the room, as if fear itself was the driving force. Now, an explosion, I think. Im not standing anymore, and there is no fire, but my skin burns. There was no sound, but it has seemed to deafen my ears. Everyone is frantic around me, they all clench their heads as if something inhabited them. Why am I not feeling this? One falls beside me, its Sampson. I can see the fear in his eyes, and he's reaching out to me, but theres nothing I can do. I watch him die and soon I can hear nothing, but something is with me.
Strange, I know its not any members of my team. But is that just the fear? Its impossible. Nothing else could be here except...
Those eyes, all the evil of the world and beyond rests in those eyes.
My heart stops.
I gasp for air.
And then it enters.
