What do you think could be two teenaged boys' motive for kidnapping a two or three year old child? (Seriously, it's completely open...and so far it's just because they were 'bored'.)

They could have something against the parents, and probably be high or drunk at the kidnapping time. There could be racist reasons, the kid could be Muslim and the boys American and had fathers die in the war or the Twin Towers. The boys could want the sitter to come to get the kid for seductive reasons. It could be gang related. It could be a prank.

Here's a scenario for you, though it's a bit morbid. . . The girl's older brother isn't popular, so he offers to show two teenage boys at school his father's gun, he wants to prove how cool he is.
The teenage boys come over to the house, one is carrying his father's gun, he wants to show off too. When they get there, the parents are still home. The father answers the door and sees the teenagers, one holding a handgun. The father tries to take the gun from the boy, but it goes off, killing the father.
The teenager carrying the gun is terrified now. The mother rushes down the stairs having heard the gunshot, her son (the one who invited the teenagers) is with her. The boy carrying the gun is afraid of what he's done and of being caught, he empties the gun into them.
The teenagers are all afraid now. They decide to go home and act like nothing happened. They are just about to leave when they hear a young girl upstairs call for her mommy. They look up and see her at the top of the stairs, watching them.

Ooo... nice scenario!!!!
Or if you were wanting to go with something more... nice. I like the whole they were trying to save her from her "abusive" father. But no one knows he's abusing her, so now they have like crews out looking for them like fugitves. Amber alerts go out. And along the way they have to try and proove that the father is abusive. So its a constant struggle between staying safe, and figuring out how to show the evil in the father, and wondering if they did the right thing.

there are loads of things like that which happen every year in britain. the one i remember most is this one here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bulgerthis is a very sad and depressing story so don't read it or research it if you are emotionally unstable atm

it's just plain sick. Even if you were beaten up and sexually abused whilst younger, I do not believe it is an excuse for such behaviour. they should know how it feels to be on the receiving end....

Very true. But its hard on little kids who grow up like that. They think thats the normal way of life. So they just act out what they know to be true.
Its very sad though. Im glad I have a short term memory. Because I quickly forgot about it. ;D
