I was going to make a thread about rejection letters cause I got my second one (from a genre mag)today, but I have nothing that's not so suitably sarcastic that Internet can't convey it to say about that. So-- What are you doing to break into the writing field? How have your successes or failures with magazines or publishing played out?

I had lots of confidence in one story, but I made the mistake of sending it to a popular magazine, and got my first and only rejection letter. Since then, I haven't really pursued much in terms of publishing, but I'm currently working on a novella that I think might be worth getting published. *nods*

Lol, I'm not much of a writer anymore, in case you haven't guessed. Good attitude. Might see if you can contact S.E. Hinton; she was published at sixteen and became a very respected author quickly. *nods*

I'm happy with thinking of an idea for a fanfic, writing a few paragraphs, then throwing it away and thinking of another idea... I really must try sticking to one.

I guess I'm not as good as S.E. Hinton yet. I was like that for quite a while, Elasticband. Now the drive to publish is pushing my fanfics aside, except when some really sweet idea comes up. I was thinking about Halo fic the other day...that is, I presume, what you write?

Do you mean game type stuff or the fanfics which I don't end up writing?
