It may sound odd but all of my creativity comes from my music. Especially hip hop and rock!! it's true!! Evanescence helps me write depressing stuff, Switchfoot, adventure, and Phantom Of The opera drama!!!

I use music, too. But exciting music distracts me, so I usually just use piano music, or instrumental rock like Jeff Beck. It helps to have a rythm in the background I guess.

I've used POTO (Phantom of the Opera) for inspiration, as well as Evanescence. Movies do it for me a lot too.

movies work sometime for me, like POTC 2, the individual shots for that (The water pouring into the cups, the veil, the dress in the water were all really inspiring!

I use music sometimes. It really inspires me. Several of my fan fictions (and one orginial) have been titled after songs.

Yeah, most song titles make really good story titles, I steal song titles now and then...

I almost always have some sort of music on, and it helps me get distracted from the rest of the world so I can write. I usually have on marathons of: 1.) Evanescence 2.) POTO 3.) soft pop/rock/country 4.) MCR (this one is hard to write to ) 5.) Movie soundtracks that remind me of great scenes in films.

Most music distracts me too much from writing, unless it doesn't have any words. Movies inspire me as well, but then I'm sitting throughout the movie thinking "I really wanna write something..." And then the movie is finally over and I WANT to write, but I can never think of WHAT to write. Ya know? Man, that gets me.

I always have some music playing while I'm writing, but never specific music... it's just whatever is in my CD player at that moment.
I really like listening to The Lord of the Rings Soundtracks if I'm going for an epic feel though. It helps.

If anyone knows who Clint Mansell is, I listen to him alot when I wirte.
His stuff is very beautiful, slow and magestic. Violin, Piano, Jello. All great stuff to keep me calm. He even has intense stuff, for intense scenes.
I love to picture some of the scenes in my book as if it was a movie, and that certain music was playing, as the scene was happening.

You guys should listent to Nigel Kennedy and the Kroke Band. It makes me feel like writing adventure or romance scenes set in some exotic foreign country. ;D
