If there is a picture on the internet or certain song lyrics that you can credit as the inspiration for a specific thing you've written, post it here so we can all reap the benefits. ;D

I just lay on my bed in silence thinking about what I have already wrote then an idea will just suddenly hit me. Which probably is not really helpful for anyone else. My fave films can sometimes also influence my ideas. Just listening to the music in films can spark the imaganation. Depending on what type of music it is. Yeah film theme/background music always helps me.

If you'll look on the inspiration board of the old guild, there are many pictures posted there that inspired poetry for me. I would post specifics, but guests can't see that board.

If anyones ever heard the song Hurt by Johnny Cash, or read the book In Cold Blood, my characters revolve around them. Mostly, I relate three of my characters around the lyrics of Hurt.

Wow. Nice song to inspire you: it's very complex, deep and real, and I think everyone has a bit of Hurt in them. If your story can bring to life any of the depth of Johnny's song, then it'll be awesome. What story is it?
I most get inspired by what I read, and what I watch on TV. Sometimes I read something in a book, or see something on a show, that will make me smile, or make me laugh, or give me goosebumps, or make me stand up and clamp my hand over my mouth in shock, or make me turn away, and it'll strike me. I try to remember what I felt that moment, and why I felt the way I did, and I usually find a way to incorporate that feeling into my writing sooner or later.

I just got back from a pub on a cliff near where I live in Cornwall. I was sat outside writing away with the sun hanging low in the sky turning the steely clouds a soft pink and the sea charcoal. The light from the sun created a path of gold leading to the horizon like it was calling me to it. It provoked a really great idea and I'm working on it now.
