This song was written about "Baulder's Gate", a game I play ever so often.
KARNE AND THE BEHOLDER
"Did it ever seem, The theives at war because of me, Where now can I go, To hide and join the newer group?"
So Karne set out one day, Down beneath the tavern floor, Past the ghastly crypts, And farther he'd ever been before,
Through the theives' lair, Past the halls and booby traps, To the great throne room, Where his future lord awaited him,
Karne could not belive, What he saw in front of him, To his great surprise, A beholder stood in front of him,
"Karne, my lowly Karne, What brings you way down here? Karne, my lowly Karne, Why do you not turn in fear?"
"I've come to join the guild*, And start my life as a black theif, I wish to serve you well, And bring the surfice world greif,"
So it was said that day, Karne was now a blackened theif, Set to steal and break, And destroy the old guild in relief,
*"The Guild" has nothing to do with YWG, but refers to the new guild of theives who were at war with the old guild.
