Bringing back some old stuff. I remember when I wrote this. My roomate was the first one to read it. And it just absolutly made him speachless. I was so happy! Here it is.
The Death of Society
By: Carmen Marie Howrey
Do you know
how you're going to die?
I do.
You will die
from cancer you developed
from stressing to much
about bills you couldnt pay.
A cancer that feeds
indefinatly off of your weakness
and pain you hold inside
that really is nothing at all.
Dont believe me?
Then why are you sitting there
with that look on your face
of shock, sadness and anger?
You know the truth
just as well as I.
All those late nights spent
wondering if your spouse
is having an affair.
Hairs already gray from
the constant fear that
you'll loose it all and
end up like me.
But you know something?
While you sit there and panic
about the end of your pathetic life,
I will be watching with a smile
because you never believed.
Never could trust that
everything would end up
the way it should, but always
in the worst of ways.
Believing not in yourself
and your capability but of
what you could buy and how
you could impress your socialites.
You know something else?
You disgust me.
Because your all the same.
Yes, believe that.
While you all scurry about
in fear I will wait in glory.
I have nothing to loose
and nothing to gain.
I found the meaning long
ago back when you could
only know the meaning of
what a stock bond was.
And now I will die happy
and content with it all
at a very old age on the
same street corner that you...
You filth...
Walked by everday and
couldnt spare the change so
I could by a can of beans
because you thought your ten cents
would somehow buy me booze.
Yes I will die
I am only human too but
I am still far from what you could
have ever been when really
I have nothing at all.
You may have everything
money could buy but you know what?
I have something you will never
ever have dreamed to have
when I die and leave this place and
that my friend... is meaning.
Even when I am invisible.
