I look forward to it.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to "take after you". I have the deepest respect for someone who gives good criticism, and from the first critique you gave me I was thrilled to have someone here that could give truly educated feedback. I'm just the kind of person that believes in balance, as much as possible, and in all things. But I suppose you are right. There are enough people that tell us what is good, it is nice in some ways to have someone who will tell us only what is bad.

I'm not offended that you take after me. In fact, the fact that you do it subconsciously is a great thrill. And the fact that I give purely criticism supports my motto: “I am an essence, not an amalgam”

when you said "take after" did you mean that I "resemble" you or that I "go after", that is, I attack you? I took it to mean that you were claiming that I had taken up against you, that is why I apologized.

Yeah, personally I was thrilled when John came because I felt the criticism was pretty low. Then again, I hardly post anything. All my writing goes to my professors. Perhaps I should post some on here before I give it to them and get some help.

Take after has always meant resembled. I have never, ever, heard it used in any other context.

ahhh...now things make more sense. I suppose I don't need to apologize that you feel I resemble you then. And I see why you might be flattered as opposed to insulted. Yet, on another hand, do I resemble you, or do you resemble me? tee hee!

Oh well, I suppose we've hijacked this thread long enough. Perhaps we should get back to the subject of poetry.

I'm good. Now are you a soprano violinist or cellist, as I predicted? Or perhaps merely a soprano?

I think this was still pretty much on the topic of poetry. So dont worry.
Im begining to understand Johns ways. So please keep doing what you've been doing and be ruthless with all my poetry.
Thanks for unsquishing me OB, and for the help with the hole. Your like one of the bestest friends ever! *tackle hugs again*

I try to have both good and bad in my reviews, but I don't make it a point to have one or another. What I think is in there, I write. I'm not gonna say that people from the New Yorker are gonna agree with me either, but I think I have enough experience in writing that other writers will want to hear what I think.
(ok, so that was rather responding to an earlier topic.)

I really ought to be made a moderator of this forum. Semi-Mighty at the very least.
