Prologue: The Beginning of it All
When Galiant first created the world Istaril, he sent some of his children to keep rule, which were titans. These Titans each lined different parts of the world. The titans themselves were far more superior then any living being in Istaril. They’re powers and intelligent outmatched any other humanoids.
There were four gods that aligned the universe: Galiant the Light, Forgus the powerful, Emerald the Dreamwaker and Herodus the Champion. Each god would impregnate a woman, and a titan would be the offspring. And therefore, allowing the titan to rule when old enough.
In the largest world of Istaril, four titans we’re born to rule. First, there was Usifier the Undermine; ruler of the black rock deserts of Umisia. The country was far into the east, where no mortals ventured. He ruled his country through slavery and injustice, and showed little mercy. Most titans were either dragon, lycanthrope, Ragus (A type of creature with human figure, but mostly demon. The Ragus would have pale white skin, with massive horns across their backside and legs. Men would always fear the Ragus because of their glowing blood red eyes.) Or serpent. Titans mostly disguised themselves as humans and were rarely seen in their true form. Usifier being a Ragus was unusually large for one. All over his body there were glowing emblems. Each of them we’re in an ancient language that described the nature of pain. Usifier had sat on his throne, which was on the tallest mountain in Umisia.
Then there was the Titan Crolous of Spite. Crolous was a massive serpent, otherwise known as a Saw-scaled Viper. This titan had massive horns on its face. Although Crolous may look human, everyone could see through his eyes the murder and spite of the serpent. His tongue was the same as a Viper. Other than his eyes, no one could see much of his other features, but many didn’t exactly want to. Although Crolous did appear evil, he was probably the most generous of the four. His kingdom Koris was a wealthy and soaring kingdom. It was built high into the mountains, and the sun bathed its glory. In the center of the entire kingdom, there was a massive statue to honor warriors who fought their country, Forlene. Before the city was built, the country was under war. Although the world was at peace, Galiant created many enemies to keep things in balance, like the Lugorr. Lugorr were ancient trolls with a desire to rule Forlene. The Warriors of Koris and the Lugorr fought a mighty war which resulted in many casualties, with only one victor. Today, few Lugorr exists only in the darkest woods of Forlene.
Through the snowy plains of Kurak lived Duragus the Mighty. Duragus was a dragon, but assumed the form of a human. Duragus, being a dragon, was cruel and powerful. His scales were dark rest and had mighty blood soaked red wings. When Duragus was human, some would call him a half dragon, because of his features. Even though Duragus had the same size as a human, he still had his wings folded into his back. Duragus had full length claws, and dark red eyes. His hair was as black as the night, and combed back sharply. His face was completely human, except for the two small horns on each side of his nose. The dragon lived in Kurak alone in snowy forests. When he hungered, he would raid the nearby villages. Sometimes the Clorians (A race of blue skinned humans that are adaptable to the frozen climates.) would gather wood from his forests, and Duragus attacked. The dragon’s name was spread throughout Kurak, and feared. Parties of the towns finest trained warriors would go out into the forests and attempt to slay the dragon, but it always resulted in a slaughter.
The last Titan was Lilgar, destroyer of worlds. Lilgar was the greatest of all the Titans, supreme son of Galiant. Lilgar was known as a Corrupted Ragus. A corrupted Ragus is a race of former Ragus, but were trained when juvenile to become more fierce and powerful then others. They always appeared different then other Ragus, not deformed, but even better. Lilgar wore massive pauldrons, which were gold plated with red diamonds. He had horns from his legs to his head and a blood red crown with golden emeralds across it. The corrupted Ragus’s skin was a dark brown, and his horns we’re white. Lastly, Lilgar’s eyes we’re a bright yellow, that glowed so magnificently that it would blind a mortals eyes. Corrupted Ragus we’re much stronger then normal Ragus, and able to do much greater things. They we’re stronger, and far more intelligent, and had a far greater capability to rule. Lilgar ruled Humorg the country with pride, power and strength. There were three major cities in Humorg. Taon, Halus and Burgwood. Each of these capitals we’re claimed and built before any enemy hordes of the desert could assault. A saying around Istaril always says, “Humorg wasn’t built in a day.”
The world of Istaril was at peace for centuries, Titans would fight for countries and continents, and the world changed continuously. However, eventually Crolous’s people drew into argument. His entire regime had plans to murder the titan, and elect a new principal. The few that we’re still devoted to Crolous sided with him, and the city fight against one another. Crolous himself fought against the Senates men, his fierce serpent form was shown, and it frightened the resistance. Crolous fought many soldiers, and many lives we’re lost to his superior strength. But eventually, Crolous’s resistance was pushed back more and more, and eventually the serpent titan was slain in his chambers, fighting valiantly. When the death of the Titan was heard, his brothers looked the other way, and assumed another would gain power soon. Years past, and Koris still remained leaderless, and many citizens fought each other. Since Koris was a loss, Saoken himself went with his soldiers and destroyed Koris. Catapults we’re fired and they shattered every last building in Koris, and practically killed every last senate that defied his brother. Koris was gone, and Saoken turned his head and left Forlene to fend for itself. When the rest of Istaril turned its back to Forlene, the country learned to rebuild itself. The country ended up becoming farmland, and a poor country with small villages spread across the land. With Forlene so vulnerable, the Lugorr moved in, and killed the survivors of Koris. The ones they left alive, we’re forced into slavery. Of course, this did not bother any of the titans, because none of them thought their rule would extend past Forlene.
Although, the remaining Titans we’re but to rest. They were not slain, or defeated, but they felt that the world would do without rulers for awhile, so they we’re put in tombs all across the world and they slept. Many who opposed and hated the Titans would search for the Tombs and try to kill the Titans while they slept, but too many traps and devices inside the deep caves killed those who hunted them. One day, the priests loyal to the Titans would pass on the scrolls to bring back the Titans when needed, or when the world had ended. Usifier was put in inside the darkest mountains of his country; Duragus was put deep into the cold mines of Kurak, guarded by his Dragon kin, who eventually created an entire civilization around his tomb, which became the city of Yougorus (Dragon language for “Land of the Keepers”). And Lilgar himself was put in the great stone ruins, which formed a cave. The cave went deep inside the earth, so deep that the temperatures would rise greatly as you traveled into it.
There were always smaller countries in Istaril, in which humans, Elves and Clorians lived in peace. After the outburst of Forlene, things finally settled down again, and many nations and empires were constructed and assembled. Soon, the eastern empires were solemnly known for there power, wealth and military. Many of the empires consisted of human and elf, the seemingly dominant race. Clorians, dwarves and Orcs covered with settlements and villages. Orcs could never seem to get anywhere, because of there constant pillaging and killing of their own kind. Clorians were a relatively new race, so they hadn’t developed enough to call themselves a nation or an empire. They have yet to prove themselves, given that they only participated in a small conflict over in Sumin, the country of humans. Dwarves hid in their mountains, they indeed had cities and many towns, but they were all in the mountains, and who wanted to go up there?
It was heard a few years ago that the founder of the greatest city of the Dwarves passed away, most thought he died of some sort of disease, but the dwarven senate protested, claiming that he was assassinated. Though, after King Therrock, leader of the dwarves died, the dwarven capital, Luonian became republican, and the dwarven race went downhill from there. Humans were actually sent into the mountains to assist the down bringing of the dwarves, but it was too much, so they left.
Orcs were the most aggressive, but not barbaric race. They were not as nearly as unorganized and barbaric as the Cygris over in Tujal. However, if one were to travel in Grom’gol, villages would be constantly taken, and new flags would be raised. Orc politics were very complicated, and they only resided on their single law, that only the strong survive. Most say that the orc government was thrown out awhile ago, but apparently it still exists. The Cygris tribes have not been attacking the orcs lately, ever since they founded their own country. It amazed most that such beasts could actually take control of a country, and run it properly, not to say they have.
Cygris originate from Orcs. Back to the beginning of Istaril, most Orcs lived together in a co-operative and powerful society. The chieftain of most of the orcs, was named Korgath, his brother, Karn was a large orc, larger than any orc should be. Karn was feared, but also loved. Eventually, Korgath was found dead the ground. His death was short-term, and he fell from somewhere very high. The only one that the orcs knew that was with Korgath at the time was Karn, so they believed that he killed his own brother, to gain power. The evidence became more and more relevant, when the day after Korgath died, Karn gained power, and found himself in a higher style of living. The empire eventually turned against Karn and his company. Karn escaped his demise, and went into the once barrens of Sumin to seek refuge from his enemies. The orcs decided that Karn was gone, and that was all that mattered. Years later, word had spread that a new colony was uprising, the humans. Various attacks had been made against the western orc empires. Both Sumin, and most of the southern shores were a under attack. The war broke out, known as the Cilvarian War, the war of Humans and Orcs. It lasted for about five years, and then stopped. By then, word had reached of some sort of new breed of orc, known as Cygris. Their leader was Karn. Karn still rules today over Tujal and his people, the Cygris. Tujal formed many colonies, and eventually became a great empire, that is now a large threat to both the elven and human countries.
So now, Istaril rests for awhile. Most of the major wars have ended, and Cygris threats upon the alliance empire seem to have eased down. Only now, do most wait for the rise of the titans, which is foretold to happen in the next decade.
