I always make it a point to exceed normal expectations and attempt to do better than my best, which will always be a constant goal for me. If the "average" grade in one of my classes is a B, then I work as hard as I can to get an A, and after I achieve that, I attempt to raise it to a higher A. I am not satisfied with "just good enough" because I know I can do it better. I never stop trying to improve.
Not only do I try to excel in everything I do, but I also love the opportunity to learn and do new things. A few years ago I decided to learn a new language, so I have taken a Spanish class every year since then, and I will hopefully be entirely fluent someday; I am even working on learning Chinese as I continue my work in the Spanish language. Even long after I am finished with school, I hope to continue the pursuit of new skills and knowledge for the rest of my life.
I believe that one of the most important things to have in life is a passion. A creative outlet such as music or writing can be a wonderful escape for the imagination, and it seems to help expand the mind over time. Having passions such as these has allowed me to see the world in a more positive light because of the accomplishments they have helped me to achieve, and they make me a much more goal-oriented person because of the accomplishments I have yet to achieve with them. Without the ability to delve such passions, I think life would be a lot less interesting.
I know the satisfaction of living life with these philosophies, so I want to share that feeling with others, which is why I want to be a teacher someday. I have been blessed with having one of those special teachers who have a knack for changing the lives of young students. This teacher of mine lives as righteously as possible, and he is constantly exploring new realms of life, and he encourages everyone never to just be satisfied with "average". The way he lives truly inspires all those who are witness to his life; I want to be such an inspiration someday.
I have my convictions. I have my passions. I have my goals. They all help make up the person I am and the person I will always be. Everybody has a life they have a chance to live, and I want to embrace that chance as fully as possible.
(This is supposed to be about 500 words, but it's only 433, so if you can think of any little things I can do to lengthen it a bit, that would be great. )
