OK, this is an idea and I'd thouhgt I would see what the rest of you thouhgt of it. If you read much of my work, you'll find that a lot of it focuses on the power of the mind, and especially the power of imagination and creation within one's mind. I was trying to think up a fun scenario for a buch of us authors to dive into. Preferably, one where out characters could refelct ourselves in some way. You are all, of course, familiar with the paradox of giving your character powers, wanting he/she to be great, but being limited to a level of realism. I sought for a way to escape that. And I think there may be one. Lets start a universe, instead of making a story in an existing world, lets start a new one. But lets start at the very beginning (its a very good place to start). Lets start with a blank universe. We are the gods, and right now there is void. All that awaits is for us to create. We may create our own worlds and people them. we may lead them to war or peace, we may raise up heros and monsters. You will play yourself, althouhg you may change your name if you wish. And you are equivalent to the Greek gods. Immortal and immensely powerful, but not quite omnipotent and certainly not omniscient. So what do you think? Anyone care to be a god?

It (obviously) has not started yet. We could see who wants to join, get a few characters, a basic outline, etc. before we begin. Oh, and just one thing: There are not many grammatical things I care about. This is the internet and I don't care that much if you speak like this or if u type w/ lots of abbrv. and sch. But one thing that is a pet peeve of mine is soemthing that will probably come up in this story. The words God and god. They are different words. God is the monothiestic Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. A god is a polythiestic diety. We are gods here, NEVER God. I don't know what you believe about God, but it's just kinda a respect issue. Thanks!

I'll join. Observer I have the same problem with that. I get annoyed when they don't capatilize God when needed but capatizes gods all the time. That's what my old english teacher was like. She drove me crazy...

I'm glad you all are so understanding, thanks. Feel free to begin posting characters or ideas. If you want to be a patron god/goddess of something then you chould probably claim it (but don't be too encompassing and take everything). You can take aspects from Greek or Roman Mythology (which I too love) but don't feel restricted to it. Try some Norse, Chinese, Egyptian, or even Tolkien-style (which, I know, is mostly Norse, Welsh, etc.), or make up your own. So lets get some characters out there!

I'll join, I'd like to be in the jointy that OB is in. I might not join much though until Shadows is finished. Or I could finish it. (Remember Bockle, lol? That character was so sweet. Don't worry though girls, I won't quit till it's finished, or the story dies.)

lol, the trick is when you think a story is going to die, give it a good ending BEFORE it dies. Then you can it doesn't hurt so much to leave it. But we still have some stuff to do in that story yet.
