The yells, groans and clangs of battlesong melded together into white noise as Rourke stared unseeingly at the futile spectacle at the castle gates. What he saw frustrated him.
Rourke's suspicions about the motives of the Reds were just that: suspicions. But the mad, barely suppressed glee in Delvecchio's loud voice as he barked his orders willy-nilly at the villagers and the Reds did nothing to quell them. If the villagers were somehow able to take down the Royal Army and oust the Canjerris from power, it seemed to Rourke that Delvecchio, the chieftain of the Red Masque Assasins, was in a prime position to take power in their place. After all, this was how the feudal lands of Archonia worked: the ones with the muscle had the power. The villagers had been unable to take down the Royal Army on their own; surely the Reds knew this, were counting on this. If they were somehow able to stop the Royal Army, who would be left to stop the Reds from simply stepping into their place?
It seemed to Rourke as he watch the battle helplessly from the cover of the woods that, irregardless of what happened, no good would come from this battle. Nothing could ever be gained from violence. He could attest to that bitterly as he clutched tighter at the broken ax handle in his hand. A physical power-struggle could only end one way: many would die, one side would win, and the villagers would pay the price.
No. Violence was not the answer. But Rourke knew that he could never make the villagers understand. It was not their fault that from their very youth Archonians are trained to be combative. Rourke himself was trained in kudo by his father ever since his 4th birthday. Fighting for what you wanted was just a part of life in Archonia, and he couldn't fault the villagers for fighting for their freedom from corrupt rule.
They just needed a new way to fight.
"Now!" Delvecchio's voice suddenly boomed, and the battle shifted back into focus as the trebuchets hurled wooden barrels against the castle walls. The resulting explosions led Rourke to believe that they had held gunpowder. He sighed. They had never breached the walls before; things were going to go bad, and fast.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a young man scaling the walls, out of sight of the battle. He looked out of place; he was too well clad to be ...
Rourke started. The prince!
And suddenly a plan began to form.

(kewl- i wud w8 4 him as well, bt i cnt have her in a meetin wen stuff is goin on outside and gttin her pissd off with Hunter will b funny) "YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!" screamed Ice, her eyes dropping into dark green suddenly, "that was meant to be MY mark! not some... electrical morons! you know i can do this! I'm as good as any man... probably better! especially for a job like this!" "Ice," said the man in charge, she could never remember his name, "will you calm down." "NO I WILL NOT! that was meant to be my job and you give it to... to that stuck up... MORON!" the man before her smiled. "i take it you have met hunter then." "yes..." she said through gritted teeth, "briefly, and i already know he's a complete and utter ba-" "Sasha!" he snapped, getting rather annoyd with her quick temper. the use of her real name quietened her down. her breathin was rather heavey with her anger instead. "fine," she hissed, almost snake like. "fine?" this made him apprihensive, making such a powerful teenager was never a good idea. "fine. wat evr. i dont care. but you watch, he'll mess it up. and now i'm startin to think it's a bad idea. he's a kid, maybe ransom would work better long term. we could deal with him later. killing him straight off wouldn't be such a great idea. and i know how men like hunter work. he'll kill him and enjoy it. he toys with his victims, we all know it. its inhumane. i almost pity him now... poor child." she was doing it on perpose, making the target appear to be human. you were never meant to do it, targets were simply targets nothing more, or else it became murder to the assassin. the way she was speaking was making him appear to be a person... somebody's baby... "get out," he snapped at her, suddenly feeling the absense of his own children. Ice shrugged and turned to leave, "no wait!" "what?" "go see how the new recruits are working out. help them." ice smirked. "make up ur mind sir. either im an insider and a Red or else i'm an outsider and i cn leave at any time." she didnt let him answer, she left instead. now she really hated Hunter. he had taken her mark, her idea. this wasn't fair. all she had been used for for the last couple of months was a trainer or a cook- she felt useless. nt any more. (sorry- jst had to tie up tht end )

Trevor weaved through the thick undergrowth of the forest near the castle, he'd been through here many times with his pet. He had been careless this time, not caring to check for anyone watching him. He just thought that he was too skilled to be caught. His cougar was running next to him, as he searched for their secret clearing.take a left at that tree, a quick right near those bushes. I'm close. He started to slow, nearing the clearing he was looking for, time for him to take a quick rest. He raised his right hand and whispered a few words into the palm, small flames shot up from his hand, and he tried to use them to stay warm. He sat down by an oak tree, and listened to see if anything were near.

Aiden needed some trapping supplies, so he headed into the village. The main reason for his delay was not the supplies, he wouldn't necessarilly need them, he just wanted to delay this one.
Kidnappings one thing, Aiden thought, but forcing him to kill the king and quuen, THEN killing him?! That's just too much. He looked over at the pub, I need a drink, he decided, altering his course.

it didn't go so well i take it, said chaandi.
"no shit snakey..." she growled heading into the village, glaring anybody down who so much as stepped in her way, "i think i'll jst kill some randomer instead..."
or you'll get drunk... muttered Chaandi savagely...
"o tht sounds like fun!" cheered Ice happily, "where to?!" she knew exactly where she was going.
u smart ass...
"and damn proud."
Just then Ice was in too much of a bad mood to do anything constructive. just then was time to gt a bit tipsy.

"What'd'ya want?" called the bartender.
"Something strong," replied Hunter.
The barkeep left, and, a few moments later, came back with a pint of ale.
Aiden took a sip, "You call that strong?"
"Strongest thing we got."
"Well, then it'll have to do," he said, downing the ale, and ordering a second.

Ice pushed the door open.
"hey mark!" she called at the bartender.
"hey girly, your tom's out back if you want me to get 'im," grinned the bartender.
"shuddup," grinned Ice happily, "tommy can do his own thing. i need something strong. some a$$hole got my job."
"tom's gonna get jelous," chuckled Mark, "we've already got someone in here complainin about the strength of the alcohol."
"who?"
Mark indicated to a man hunched up near by, he was glaring down his glass. ice recognised him immediately. "ignore him, hes just hunter," she announced loudly, glaring down at him, sitting down waiting for mark to get her drink. mark winced already.

Aiden looked over at her. He really should have left. He had stuff to do.
He finished the last of his second drink, not feeling any real buzz. "Keep the change," he said, throwing some money onto the counter. It was more than enough, and that included a tip.
"Leaving so soon?" The barkeep asked.
"yeah," he shot Ice a look, "It's starting to get mediocre in here."
He turned to leave.

"o dont feel you have to leave," said Ice coldly, getting up as well, "i've got better things to do than take bull from a semi-human idiot. at least i dnt toy with mine like a monster." she pushed past him, knocking him over slightly on her way out. she wasn't about to take rubbish from tht.

"Oh, well, ain't that cute? You know of me," he walked past her, and to the door, "The sad thing? I've never heard anything about you," he sneered, and left the pub.
