(Well, I don't know about Ryan, but I'm planning to tie up the cougar and go back past the castle, so I can see what became of the battle at the gates, and then into town, to find someone who can track people so I can maybe go after Ryan. Let's plan to meet up somewhere along that route?)

Annoyed barely covered what Rourke felt as he trudged back towards the village defeatedly. He was beginning to feel ridiculous. Partly because he had let the prince get away from him. Partly because he had fallen for Trevor's misdirection with the panther. Partly because he almost had his ass handed to him by a pampered royal and his kitty.
But mostly because he, a 140 scruffy twig, was carrying a 165 pound gagged and bound tawny cougar over his shoulder, praying to all the deities he knew he didn't believe in that the large cat wouldn't wake up anytime soon. Not a particularly strong guy, Rourke seethed at the realization that the overgrown feline was likely large for its kind, mostly because it had probably been fed handsomely as it lived in the pockets of royalty. "Fatass," Rourke groaned under his now haggard breath as he struggled on.
He would have to find a tracker. There was just no way around it. He could see no other options for pursuing the prince. He knew nothing of the art of tracking, and there was just no way to know where the prince was headed. Following him blindly in the direction he was running would obviously be a mistake. He could get lost, and he had too many times underestimated the prince not to realize that he was craftier than he seemed; he could be trying to lead Rourke astray in some new trick. Besides, the prince could be in some distant land now for all Rourke knew, he had run off faster than a steed. What would have stopped him from taking off again like that even if Rourke were fortunate enough to find him?
Rourke groaned again, from both frustration and exhaustion. The plan had gone horribly awry before it had even begun. This wasn't going to be anywhere near as easy as he had first led himself to believe.
The semi-stifled waking purrs of the cat just added to this belief.

(thought i would add something extra, my first post was very small.)
'Yeh, i'll have another thanks'. What an idiot, Nero thought to himself. This man has no strength of mind what so ever. Deep pocket though, this will be the sixth drink i've got out of him tonight. However if he goes on one more time about his girl cheating on him i swear i will kill the fool.
'There....there you go' Tom slurred as he stumbled onto the chair.
'You know i..i can trust you, not like.......Harry'
'Ok, that's it' Nero's grip hardening on the knife he found on the table. 'Why don't we take you outside for some fresh air'.
Nero picked up and practicly dragged Tom out of the pub, still with the knife in hand.
'There you are, watch your ste....pp'
Nero had just caught sight of someone dragging a beat up cougar through the village, a sight which more than confused him. What hell kinda place have i walked into. But then again maybe i can have some fun with this.
'Tom, my..good...friend....see that Cougar over there, it's about to attack that poor idiot, go take this knife and help him.' Nero persuaded, causing Tom to stumble towards the beast with the knife. Deffinetly going to have some fun here.

it left[/u]
"IT WAT!" complained Ice out loud.
the blood shed, the attempted blood shed has passed[/u]
ice never could get used to the idea of the earth 'talking' to her, but it helped her alot.
"o man this is not my day. does NO ONE want 2 fight me?! Goddess this isn't fair..."
stop talking to yourself, snapped chaandi, people might catch onto the fact your mad.
"too late sweetheart- most of the village knows." she heaved a sigh. "might as well go see how Tom's doing... the poor sod has probably had a million drinks weedled out of him."
he's doin the self pity thing, you know that,
by then Ice was half way back to the village, but she was agreeing with Chaandi, she was calmer, but not by much. "tru that." she wandered through the final trees spotting her huge moronic friend, drunk as a sailor, lumbering towards a man carring a huge cat and anothr man, barely older than herself watching and laughing.
"i left home... hopeing for a change... and i have yet to see it..." she mumbled to herself, "TOM WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE GODDESS ARE YOU DOING! YOU DRUNKEN IDIOT!"
ah for normality... sighed chaandi, its good to be home.

(Aw, you guys, I wasn't planning to go to the village yet! Be careful when you're dealing with other people's characters, please. I'm going to make a large post here, just to get me into the right place.)
(Hey, Ryan, is Serrie just a normal pet cougar, or is it a channeling object as well? I was gonna write something about that, and then I discovered that I wasn't sure about that.)
Things were developing in Archonia, and in a hurry.
Rourke had just set the now awake and struggling cougar a few yards away, just within eyesight, as he crept into the bushes bordering the forest, with the intent of taking a look at the standings of the battle. When he had left it to go after the prince, it seemed that, with the help of the Reds, the villagers had just managed to break through the castle gates and were ready and raring to unleash hell on the Royal Army.
Archonia, a feudal land of magically enhanced barbarians (as Rourke so lovingly put it), was in a constant state of upheaval because of its querulous, unpredictable nature. Magics, after all, often had a mind of their own, and you never knew what could happen when they were involved with anything. Put that kind of power in the combative hands of Archonians, and you had yourself a crazy world. Anything could happen at any time, and the only thing you could really count on in such a place was that you couldn't count on anything at all.
But even Rourke, knowing this, couldn't help himself from being shocked at the sight of what he saw as he poked his dirty little head through the bushes.
Nothing. That's what he saw: nothing. No Royal Army. No Reds. No Delvecchio. No villagers. No bodies. No battle.
And most astoundingly of all, no castle.
Rourke took several moments to take such a thing in, trying to process as the blood rushed to his head in excitement. Something hug must have happened here. What in the world had he missed? Thought after thought tumbled like rocks in an avalanche as his mind raced to find some rational conclusion to what he was seeing, but was unsuccessful in all attempts. Such a life-changing revolutionary thing had happened in his short absence in chasing the prince. He cursed himself more than ever at his ineptitude. He had missed something critical in the war, and he had nothing to show for it but the prince's pet.
The excitement to discover just what was going on feeding frantic energy into him, Rourke raced back to collect the cat. He was much too eager to be bothered by the fact that the feline was not much disposed to seeing him, and quickly took care of its protesting growls and wriggles with a swift rap with the ax handle to its head, and into town they rushed.
* * * * *
Unfortunately for Rourke, the boost of adrenaline the sight of the missing castle had afforded him drained out after a few miles of carrying the damn cat back to the village. Exhausting was not the word. Twice already he had had to smack it into a comatose state since they had left the castle, and it seemed to grow strangely more resilient to his blows as they walked on that he could no longer knock it out. Perhaps it was because he was now as tired as a woman's lips from all that walking. Whatever it was, he could no longer incapacitate it completely, and its wicked writhing as he carried it had become too cumbersome. He was forced to drag it from its bound legs, it protesting all the way with every muscle in its powerful body. "Why aren't you tired, you bitch?" he muttered weakly as he wondered for the umpteenth time why he even bothered with it as he pulled it haphazardly into the village.
"TOM, WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE GODDESS ARE YOU DOING? YOU DRUNKEN IDIOT!"
Rourke whirled, and saw a young lady had yelled that at some obviously drunk man weedling his way in his direction. Rourke paid no attention to them.
"Ay, are you the one giving my wife the business then?" a groggy, out-of-it voice declared behind him. Rourke groaned. Drunks were the worst. He turned.
"Look, just -"
"Here's what's coming to ya then, ya arse!" the man cried, swinging a knife at him suddenly. Rourke just frowned as the man missed him completely, swiveling around like a top gone awry before making a spectacular landing right on his broad face. A man in black just cackled madly with laughter.
Rourke turned his attention to the woman. "Uh ... does this belong to you?"

Huh. Never seen something like that before. Shadow commented, amusement in her mind-voice.
Something like what? Kia asked, coming outside, her hands sudsy from her previous job of doing dishes.
Shadow sat in the middle of the road now, her tail twitching normally. Obviously, she hadn't heard anything else in the forest, though, one ear did swivel around behind her every once in awhile. Kia walked out to join her, oblivious to the hairs escaping fron her bun, a few tendrils curling down onto her forehead.
Hun, you'll need these. Shadow 'borrowed' some of Kia's magic, and a searing hot pain seemed to stab Kia through her eyes.
This wasn't common between the two, but it had happened often enough for Kia to know what to do. She focused on her sight, ignoring the pain best she could. she focused her now very keen sight down the road, in front of the tavern closest to her house, the building closest to hers from town. A man was carrying a cougar on his back, and another man, obviously drunken, was approaching him. Sunlight glinting off of something in his hand told kia that he had a knife in his hand. A girl was running toward them, and another man was laughing.
The searing pain stopped, and Kia felt dizzy and drained. Her eyesight returned to normal, and she had to kneel down on the road to keep from falling over.
Told you it was something you don't see every day. The cougar I mean. Shadow replied, blinking rapidly as she restored her own sight.
I could have walked down there you know. Kia replied, biting off the words, annoyed.
It's been awhile, I need to keep you sharp. This is a war you know. Shadow was casual, and Kia knew she was right. She had to stay sharp and focused.

(sorry, i'll keep that in mind in the future, sorry. also seeing as i won't be here for the next few days, i will take my character out etc)
Eurgh, that could of gone a lot better. Would of had more fun killing the fool.
Nero began walking slowly to the outskirts of the village, making sure not to gain the attention of the duo now talking.
Hmmm, actualy that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Not used my sword in a while now. Starting to go delusional, seriosuly i swear that girl is talking to the cat...
Nero stopped and looked at the girl and the cat, making sure he wasn't seen in the shadows.
I'll pass on making sport of those, there's obviosuly a reason she lives out here on her own.
Nero moved on, walking out further from the town, and paying no attention to the world around him. A big mistake. Before he knew it a squad of royal soldiers were slowly surrounding him.
Huh nice castle
A loud thumping of shields came from the woods surrounding him.
Looks like i get to use my sword after all
20 soldiers slowly emerged from the woods and surrounded Nero. All smirking and holding the weapons high, ready for battle.
"Gentleman, please. There is no need to..."
Again Nero had not paid any attention to the surroundings as an arrow tipped in poison landed straight into thigh.
"OW! Eurgh damn you!"
Nero rushed the soldiers, not caring that he is heavily out numbered, but before he even got to the first soldier he was hit with another two poisoned arrows. One two his other thigh and one to the back. He collapsed to the floor.
Damn....you
Still alive, just out cold. The soldiers continued their orders as 5 dragged him back to the castle, and the rest marched on ahead.
