Such touchy subjects.

Your paragraph was filled with grammar errors, but to respond as best I can to "it is not up to us to understand God's reasoning", I would have to tentatively disagree with the quote as stated. It is my duty as a Christian to try and understand God.
This debate is becoming too confusing without a central theme. I suggest we agree to disagree. If you want to debate me on some point, feel free to ask me to make a thread in the debate section. But right now we're going all over the spectrum, from defining truth, to whether God can commit evil, to the corroboration of Science and Religion, etc.

I wasn't focusing on grammatical accuracy of my paragraph so apologies there. You understood my point so I care not about my grammar. You would disagree and try to understand god's reasongs for mass suffering of innocents? Ever read "The Plague" by Albert Camus? You should.
yeah anyway. back to politics

the plague by albert camus is an extended metaphor that can be applied to any situation of life in a time of pestilence or doubt. It examines true love, religion, life, actions and their consequences and existence as a whole. At the same time it is an excellent read written by one of the greatest french writers of all time. Philosophy students would appreciate the book especially.

The comment wasn't meant to be a poor attempt at defeating a case you might have. I was just stating the figure so as to give you an impression as to where I am coming from.

The GOP (O for Oil) has spent such disgusting amounts of the budget on a war that (according to the UN) has done nothing more than fostering terrorism that it's no surprise we (that is to say, The Democratic Party) has reclaimed both the House and the Senate. And now to fulfill the thread title's language warning: Fuck you, Bush. And where were those WMDs, anyway?

I do not dispute that Hussein was against the freedom of the Iraqi people, merely that he was able to control terrorism and the terrible acts which he did commit--and make no mistake, I believe him to be a dispicable person and his actions heinous--were nothing compared to the current seige of anarchy/civil war that rages in parts of Iraq today (there was a program on WNT w/ Charles Gibson perhaps a week ago about a city in southeast Iraq that declared independence and was headed by some priest. I assume the situation has been controlled, but it still provides an excellent example). Also, my tour guide at the United Nations Office in NYC last spring (I went to your uncivilized America for a conference at the UN) estimated that the amount of terrorism in Iraq has in fact tripled SINCE the US's intervention. Saddam wasn't nice, but his reign was more stable than our our "free" (in every sense of the word) alternative.

Tell me, why does the UN meet at our expense, in one of our cities, if they hate us so much. Isn't it rather bad manners to spit on your host? Why don't they move to France or something?

Den, it is absurd for you to ask me why the UN meets where it does. I would assume it would be because the US gave them a part of NYC as International Territory when we were on good terms (pre-Bushian disregard for international peace). And to your argument that "Well I don't like Bush, but he was better than Kerry" 1) Kerry said clearly in his debates with president Bush that he did in fact have an exit strategy and 2) Weigh a Ph.D. with a "Gentlemen's C" MA. Hehehe...I can rhyme...and insult our president...hehehe While you're at it, you can see Richard Dawkins on C-SPAN2 today at 7 (eastern time) and here: richarddawkins.net/article,303,Reading-of-The-God-Delusion-in-Lynchburg-VA,Richard-Dawkins--C-SPAN2
