Punctuate the following sentence properly to give it logical meaning (it is missing ten punctuation marks): James while John had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher

James, while John had had "had," had had "had had;" "had had" had had a better effect on the teacher.
In other words, John had written "had," while James had written "had had," and the teacher preferred James's "had had."
