Ala bit her lip nervously as her parent's car vanished out of sight. She turned to face the new school. Her lip started to bleed from how hard she was biting her lip.
She checked to see if she had packed all of her fencing equipment before slinging the bag on her shoulder and walking into the school.

cali litterally fell out of the car in her effort to get out quickly. she didn't have a great head for cars, and dally knew it. he always messd around on perpose because of it. "you're mean dally," she complained, grabbed her bags off him. he laughed. "i know." he pulled her into a hug. "i can't come into school with u, cal- they no some of my record. i applied for the school." cali scowled. she hated the school already. "i'll come pick u up @ the hald term if you dont end up liking it here, cool?" "cool," she sighed in reply, returning the hug, "gonna miss you dal." "miss you to cali- have fun tho. and make as much trouble as you can." "you bectha!" she agreed. he kissed her forehead, and climbed back into the car. he didn't look back, he couldn't. he felt like he was abandonin his only sister. cali watched him drive away and faced the school. "ok… here goes nothing…"

While Jay knew his parents had his best interests at heart (which was the only reason why he'd hidden his displeasure at coming to Arlington May in the first place), he couldn't help but feel he was in prison. The first images of the groaning rattle of the tall, black gates opening, the gargantuan stone walls surrounding the grounds and the cold, suspicious stare of the broad guardsman at the booth at the front gate all added to the feeling of being kept against his will.
Jay had been among the first of the students to arrive. Clemens, his father's driver, had insisted they leave the manse at four that morning, to allow for traffic and weather conditions that would threaten to slow them down or, with any truth behind the local weather forecaster's prediction of moderate to heavy rains, prevent them from coming altogether, as there were patches on the Western highway that were often flooded due to proximity to the rivers. However, the overcast skies had merely grumbled softly at them, and had even eventually dissipated to allow for brief patches of actual sunshine, and the traffic had been minimal at worst. Clemens made good time in dropping off Jay at what was apparently going to be his home until the Christmas holidays.
An overly-enthusiastic man who'd introducted himself as Mr. Aben had then shown Jay to his meagre quarters, a two-bedroom, one-bathroom closet on the second floor of a building just near the gate. The bedrooms were musky and dark, almost forlornly so. Each had in two bunks, and where adjoined by a presently bare-looking common room. Already depressed at having been sent away, Jay couldn't bear to stay in the room, and had taken a seat on the bench outside his flat, and was watching the other arrivals saunter in one at a time from the balcony, all of whom seemed just as cautiously fearful of being in a boarding school as he was. Most notably was one girl with bright orange hair, who had apparently bitten her lip and had started to bleed profusely. The female teacher who had greeted her at the gate had tittered all about her in her nervousness, and Jay had seen the guard put down his tabloid for an instant to snicker to himself for a moment before retreating behind the pages. The girl herself seemed a little out of sorts, but much less so than the teacher, who had immediately dragged her off to some unseen place, probably the nurse's office.
Jay took another look at the large expanse of the school. Arlington May was a name that conveyed a sense of femininity to Jay, and the grounds had not disappointed in that respect. The dull, soft pinks of the dormitory buildings, the abundance of rosebushes adorning the winding stone pathways to and from the many edifices, and the enormous tree in the center of the lunch area that steadily rained down a soft shower of yellow petals on the picnic tables were definitely the products of a woman's mind. Jay sighed. It was a prison, all right, but what a beautiful prison it was.

(chris… dude… thts amazing…)
"you have a new room mate this year, mr Logan," said mr Aben a little too cheerfully. it was almost annoying, but jake chose to smile instead, "he's new to the school -so i hope u make him feel welcome." "i'll try," jake drawled. he briefly wandered how on earth this poor new kid got roped into going to this beautiful hell hole. "I beliebe he's in the room- he got here quiet early." "cool." Mr Aben frowned slightly, and pushed the boy's door open for him. jake nodded his thanks, and dragged his bags into the room. his room mate was staring out on the balcony. he dropped his bags with a thud, his room mate turned round to face him. jake was surprised to see how florn he looked. "uh, hey," he started walking forewards, putting out his hand, "i'm your room mate, Jake Logan."
(dnt mind do u Chris?)

(Not at all.)
It was probably extremely impolite, but Jay couldn't help but let his jaw drop slightly at the sight of the Hercule of a man (or kid, as the case was) that stretched out his hand to shake his. This guy was 6 1/2 feet tall, taller than anyone he'd ever seen, but the expressiveness in his large eyes and the boyish charm in his olive skin showed that this guy was still just a teenager, and would probably keep growing a bit more. What a freak he'd gotten for a roommate! A few more inches, and Jake probably wouldn't be able to stand straight without hitting his head on the ceiling. And if his height wasn't intimidating enough, there was a large scar on the side of his face that gave him a sort of sinister edge.
Jay quickly composed himself again, hoping that Jake hadn't seen the sliver of fear he'd shown for that second. If this guy turned out to be the type who'd use his height to his advantage, he certainly didn't want to betray any timidity for Jake to take advantage of. "Jay Bowen," said Jay, taking Jake's outstretched hand (a monstrous hand it was too, dwarfing Jay's own both in size and strength). He secretly wondered just how this mammoth was planning to fit into the tiny bunks in the bedroom, and hoped that Jake would take one of the beds in the room across the common room instead of sharing with him. "Nice to meet you," he lied.

(WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!! ur a genious!!!!!)
jake offered a smile. jay seemed rather nervous of him. which he found rather understandable. he saw him eye the scar on his temple and he supressed a laugh. most ppl noticed that about him first. this boy seemed rather easily scared to him. yet the was a certain amount of mystery to him.
"nice to meet you too," he said, in what he hoped was a friendly voice- he didn't like scarin ppl too much, "hope you enjoy your time here." 'though i doubt u will,' he thought. he picked up his bags and pulled them across to the opposite side of the room, and hoped to God his brother would get there soon. this jay guy was making him a little nervous.

Jay heaved a sigh of relief when Jake went into the room on the right side of the common room, the one opposite his. At least now he wouldn't have to worry about that gangling mutant that much. Granted, he seemed amiable enough, but Jay was a naturally suspicious person, and he couldn't help himself, and that odd scar, the freakish height and those bulgy eyes certainly seemed like things to be suspicious of.
As much as Jay wanted to keep on sitting by the balcony and stew in his misery, he was sure Jake would probably come back to the common room soon, and so grudgingly picked himself up to go to his own room to start with his unpacking, making sure to pull the bedroom door behind him.

Jake glanced over his shoulder as where Jay had walked out. he shrugged. he didnt need any more fans, he was popular enough, and nt 4 the usual reasons either. instead he leant over and grabbed his ipod and some new book and went over to the balcony so he could sit down and watch over his home again. and mayb even read a little.
"I am so lost…" complained Cali, "this is rediculous! HOW CAN I B LOST ALREADY!!!!" disgruntled she sat in the middle of the floor in the middle of the corridor, concentarting on the wall in front of her. she had found the office and she had been given the number of her dorm. but the teacher who was ment to show her round had to be called away for some reason (sounded like a kid was having some kind of problem). she was given rushed directions- then left alone. which was not a good thing. "i need help… first day in a new school… it would just have to happen to me wouldn't it," she mumbled to herself, knwoing if anyone heard, they would think her insane. but she didn't care. she needed to think alloud to calm herself down. because when she paniced, she was more likely to faint. good thing she had sat down too. 'i just sit here till someone finds me…' she thought savagely. she knew she was stubborn enough to wait.

Ala crumbled the blood stained tissue in her hand as she walked down the hallway. She hated it when someone would make a fuss when she bit her lip to hard. The teacher had half dragged her to the nurse just for the fat lady to say it was nothing to fret about. SHE ALREADY KNEW THAT!!! She had made her lip bleed practicly every time she got nervous, why would she care that it was bleeding now?
Shrugging her anger aside she noticed a girl staring at the wall.

'I wander…' Cali thought, crossly, "if I sit here long enough… will a hole burn through the wall… that'd be cool…' she was starting to get bored. but she was much too stubborn to get up. once she had set her mind to something- she'd do it. she heard foot steps, and the sound of jeans coming closer and closer. she snapped her head round and looked up at the girl. the first thing that got to Cali was the strangers eyes… they were so dark green, that she was almost worried they'd be entirely black if she blinked. they were such a beautiful colour. reminded her a little of her own father colour- only much much darker. the next was her hair colour- she had never seen orange hair before, but she decided immediately that she liked it. especially on this girl. "Hey," Cali grinned, looking up to meet this girl's eyes properly, "I'm lost- can u help me? My name's California by the way, but calll me Cali unless you have a death wish." she winked happily. 'PEOPLE!' her mind screamed, 'PEOPLE! FINALLY CIVILISATION IN THE HAUNTED DUMP!'

LOL!!!
"Sure I'll help you but I don't know where everything is here. My names Alanis or Ala." She said and stuffed the tissue in her pocket. The girl, Cali was pretty much pretty then the girls Ala had seen so far.

Cali's grin softened. "Hey- that's cool!" she said cheerfully, "I'm jst glad there's another person here! I dunno how long i've been stuck here…" she looked round shiftily. "I'm not mad keen on new schools." he grin returned as she looked up at Ala. "You a newbie too?"

Cali found herself taking a liking to the girl. "yeah…" she patted the stone floor next to her for her to join her, "me to… it's really sucky though. coz i don't exactly live that far away. mum's jst not herself- so i gotta stay here." she shrugged. "i got a bad feelin about this place. it dnt feel right- u no?" she looked at Ala, to see if she had gotten anything of what she had said. she knew she was talking way to much, but she was getting edgey. she was trying to remember if she had taken her medicine that morning.
