The title speaks for itself, we need a new joint story that more people will join, and won't die like all the others....any suggestions?

I have ideas, but nothing I can think of seems like it would last.
I do have an idea about what I'd like in a jointy, though. I think it should be crazy and funny and fun and dumb and random, something that is just mindless so you can just jump right into it without having to think too much about it, that isn't heavily dependent on keeping up with it religiously so that the plot can go forward, and something that won't suffer if someone decides to drop in or drop out unexpectedly.

Well, there's no surefire way to keep them from dying. People get busy, lose interest, etc etc...The best you can hope for is to get enough people involved so when some stop posting (Not pointing fingers, I personally still owe a post on our Werewolf/Vamp jointy) you will still have enough to be able to keep it going.
However, you know people do have different tastes, so not everyone will be interested in the same jointy.
That being said, I've got nothing for you, sorry. So I guess that was really a very pointless post.

Lol, Wow Jayda, I read that, and when I was done, felt empty inside and slightly disapointed that there was no form of advice in there

I'd love to be a part of a jointy. ;D About the differing interests, I think that might just be an issue about one or two people controlling the story, and the rest just following those two people. If the control of the story is more balanced, then maybe we can write something everyone is at least somewhat interested in.

Ok, so that actually helps a lot, so, we can say this
Before we do this, we need enough people to agree with the story, to ensure that everyone is happy with it. And we must make sure all characters are involved. We need a way for every character to be tied to at LEAST one other character, and can intereact with ALL of the characters

Well, I've always considered myself and idea person, so let me just churn out a couple. 1. When Ethan said MEDIVAL TIMES BIATCH (yes, I got inspired by something Ethan said, go figure), I thought that maybe we could do a jointy in which we have a modern high school where all the students use medieval dialogue. I think it would be interesting to take olden-time dialect and put in the mouths of babes. 2. Each person in this jointy is a superhero from a different part of the world. An evil mastermind steals enough nuclear warheads to destroy civilization as we know it, and then issues a challenge to all the superheroes in the world at large: he's going to give them the clues they need to find him and stop his evil plan, and the superhero who does will go down as the greatest superhero ever. At first the superheores decide to combine their efforts, but soon the glamor of the competition starts getting to their heads and the superheroes start to betray and backstab each other in their quest to be the best. 3. This one is about a group of friends who form this club where once a day they spin this wheel containing all their names on it, and the person whose name comes up is given a dare. That person has to perform that dare before the end of the day, and all the rest of the club members have to do everything in their power to make sure that person doesn't complete the dare. If the dare isn't completed before the end of the day, then that person who failed to do it is out of the club. 4. Each person who wants to be in the jointy is given an adjective. Their character must portray that adjective in everything he/she says or does to a fault. Gold, right? I've got a million of 'em!

1. hot girls speaking old time dialect? That's too much greatness too be allowed
2. I like this one...a lot, but we'd need someone who is active, and has a good enough imagination to give clues that we could all solve, but it would take a lot of thought
3. That would be fun to play in real life, but in a joint story, we'd be able to cheat and just make up an incredibly unrealistic way about how it was achieved
4. this would need a joint story already in the making for us to be able to use this, and this is more of a character developement excersise. but would be fun, and help with our writing skillz

Ok, your turn to share that wealth of ideas are just burning a hole in your brain.
I know this because I can smell singed tissue from here.
